Mountain wildflowers!
Yesterday, Mom and I drove up Mt. Baldy to test the ear again. I'd noticed last time that there were a lot of flowers in bloom, so I dragged Mom with me for a nice little drive. We started from Upland, drove all the way to the ski lift, came back to part way and then took the Glendora Mt. Road.
PIC SPAM!
Here is Mt. San Antonio, commonly called Mt. Baldy because of the lack of trees at the top. It's 10,052ft, I think.

The mountain lilac was in full bloom and smelled wonderful. There's a big patch of it where the road goes to Ice House Canyon. I'd include a photo but it doesn't do it justice.
The penstemons and monkeyflowers were blooming in many places:

Here is a wall of flowers:

Lovely Broom:

Some great purple flowers:

Critters. I always have to include critters:

And I love road photos:

And this looks like one could recreate it with different shades of construction paper. Gotta love that LA air:

So, if you're local and want to see a few wildflowers (and escape the heat) here is an option I never took before.
