Trends in TV with SPN and Bones Spoilers

When Desperate Housewives skipped 5 years in it's timeline, it annoyed me but it worked out okay because really, the show can't remember it's own past and it most of the eps are very forgettable. I think it's like a soap that way. All that matters is dealing with whatever happened in the last ep.

Bones is gonna skip one year ahead it seems. I approve of that. Bones is stuck and not ready to advance any further. It's really hurting Booth to be in this situation. Angela and Hodgins are finally happy and gonna spend a year in Paris; perfect! I feel a little sorry for Sweets, because that irritating woman made him happy and I don't know why they can't wait for each other for a year. This expedition is perhaps the most important opportunity in her professional life. And I don't see why Sweets should give up his practice to go to the island...or is his whole job dealing with Booth and Bones? I thought that odd that they should be talking about breaking up. So, yeah, I don't mind a year off. Brennan and Booth need to be in different places, mentally.

SPN...I don't know. Maybe this is the best thing for it, as it's like a reset in a way. The brothers are not the same people that they were when the show started and now they will be different again. This feels so much like SG1: the first three years was one show, an absolute classic, then years 4 & 5 (season 6 didn't work on any level), the Jack's Barely Here Year of 7, and then the Vala and Mitchell years. Daniel and Jack were my main characters and they each changed during this periods and many people lost interest because of the changes. I'll keep watching SPN because I do find it interesting and currently like Castiel quite a bit but for people that are totally fannish about this show, sounds like they will have some difficult adjustments. I can see where the show really needs to have a reset, but the boys will never again be the people they were in years 1 & 2.
