Speaking of Lions...

Brindle is still on my bed. His nose is now cool and wet, and we're still bringing him his meals. His back paws are still quite sore but appear to be healing fine. Looks like he ripped out four claws and a fifth was snapped off. Ouch. He is still very loving and sweet.

This statue is also from Jardin des Tuileries.

Are you going to take him to the vet once he's calmed down? Might need t have that foot checked to make sure it doesn't get infected.

He's pretty calm; all he does is sleep.

I'm watching his toes and it all seems nice and pink in there, but again I haven't checked in 12 hours. I'm about to go fetch him a meal and join him for snooze so I'll do it then.

In the six years we've cared for him, he's only had one abscess and it cleared on it's own; he's got a pretty good immune system. And if that fails, I do have some antibiotics from last summer that are still good.

I will take him if he needs it, but he's the cat that it takes three techs and they like to use the lead x-ray gauntlets to hold him. But I will take him if it starts oozing stuff. Promise. :)

Watching is good. If his toes are still pink and not hot, then he's probably ok. Especially since it's been a day or so since he got back. I don't think it'd take that long for an infection/absess to show up if it's going to, especially since he has been walking on it. Is he limping much?

Don't like the vet, do we? My cat hated the vet, but he'd just freeze, not freak out. So he was actually rather pliant, but he'd bolt back into the carrier as soon as he could. And he hated the carrier.

He wouldn't leave the carrier once so we had to dismantle it. That was one surprised cat when the 'roof' lifted off.

His injury was Tuesday night. I think he was a little feverish on Friday. Since then, no fever, no swelling anywhere and the feet are cool. And no icky smears on the bed cover.

He's still on the bed....

Oh, he doesn't limp much, but he does shake them occasionally like, "That stings!"

Bwahahahahahahahahaa!!! I'll bet he was!

Obviously he feel very safe on the bed. That's good. At least he's not hiding inside or under anything which makes him easier to keep an eye on.

Poor sweetie! I'm sure you are "mushing" him to pieces. Enjoy spoiling the heck out of him.

I can see how cats got the worshiped gig in Egypt. You can see him thinking it out. "They adore me and bring me food? I need to keep this situation going!"

He's getting lots of hugs and kisses. And he's licking our hands and head butting us in return.

When rear claws are ripped out like that - does that usually" mean a cat has used their rear legs to claw at an attacker, or just to get away up a tree as fast as possible? I don't know much about cats, I'm sorry. I hope he feels much better soon. I think with all the cuddles and company you're giving him, he will. Poor kitty.

And yeah, why *can't* we have public sculptures like that in our country? That's a big wow. Is that a bird in it's mouth? LOL - just like a house cat!

I've never heard anyone in authority explain this. I'll have to ask a vet next time I see one.

He is feeling better. I think his feet still smart and he's working the comfort part of this h/c thing as much as he can. I don't care though. I'll be going to bed soon and he'll be cuddled up to me, purring.

I think that statue did have a bird in her mouth, and it really did remind me of my little serial killers at home.
