boring stuff

I spent the day cleaning cupboards, throwing out more old food and restocking the pantry shelves. I can't believe how much alcohol I have, half of those bottles half full. I have six bottles of mead, for pete's sake, and quite a few types of beer and hard cider. Apparently, I need to start drinking! And while I rested for a break, I dl'ed all the j/d ficathon stories plus some others for my pda. Too tired to read 'em though.

Oh, the sink was installed by a handyman that was recommended by a plumber/salesman at Lowes and he turned out to be great. Knowledgeable, efficient, fairly punctual, friendly and reasonably priced. His truck was freakin' enormous! Any bigger it would have rivaled a semi. Anyway, he says he can turn our bathtub into a shower and tile it for under $1000. And he can replace the leaky skylights. I think I see what I want for Christmas and my wishlist grows....

Still trying to think up something fannish to post. Eh, didn't think much of the new Dead Zone.

The Dead Zone -- all I could think of was, "Yeppers, the writers really wanted to end THAT flirtation with Johnny, didn't they?" I came in about half-way through when I realized it was a *new* episode...for some reason, it felt like a retread. I think I might still get the first two seasons, back when the stories were...well...more interesting? I liked Johnny back when he was more similiar to the book character - reluctant to use this unusual power, and it didn't give him all the answers like a phone book.

*sighs*

Yes, you definitely need to start drinking! Bring some mead to one of the bashes and maybe we can sample a little...unless it was terribly expensive, or precioussss of course.
Fannish wise i haven't been doing too much either, except downloading fic recs, and re-reading old favourites.
Methinks the new 'Pirates' movie may inspire some storytelling...
