Growling Raccoon video

It was dark in the courtyard and I wasn't about to shine more light onto a potentially tense situation, so there is virtually no images, just a ferocious snorting and growling.

Keep in mind while she was doing this, she was in an ungainly sprawl, sometimes holding her hind foot out to groom it.

I thought is sounded a bit like how a bear does. And it's certainly scary when you hear that coming out of the dark.

Could you tell what she was growling at?

I was able to play with the settings and see her...sort of. Very interesting! It sounds like a cross between purring and growling!

There was a single raccoon hovering about twelve feet away. She/he wanted to come up and get the kibble momma was sitting on. The raccoon would try from one angle, then from another angle. I finally put out some food from another doorway out of her discomfort range. She finally settled down and took a nap/rested with her head down. Then she woke up, ate/drank some more then went up the tree where there was much "hmmm?"-ing going on.
