I came home Monday night to find five police cars parked helter skelter on the street in front of my house, lots of sheriffs and a crowd of neighbors. Huh. I took the meltables into the house, then went to to get the mail. H, my helpful neighbor came walking up and we stood around and speculated on what the heck had happened, devising different scenarios. There was no paramedics and everyone was talking very quietly. There was a car parked in the middle of the street and a man sitting quietly on the curb. After 20 minutes, the cops let the man drive away and then they all drove away. So, we went over to question the neighbors. Turns out, the woman and her teenage daughter who live 2 houses away, noticed that a man in a car was following them. He stopped when they did, he turned when they did. They called their men folk at home and a trap was planned. The girls drove up and the guy *turned off his headlights* a block away and snuck up the house. When in place, the guys trapped him in with other vehicles (this family is the type with a boat, off road vehicals, trucks and cars) and called the cops. D, the neighbor across the street said she had seen this guy parked in front of her house a few times before.

So, since this happened on a public street, no laws were broken. The sheriffs said the guy didn't have a record as a sex offender and that he lives in the area. And that was the end of it. It was very unsettling and really upset that family's teenagers. I hadn't paid that much attention to the guy as he seemed mid 30s, clean cut and non-descript. Well, I guess he's on the police's radar now. Those types of guys just escalate their behavior from what I've read. It's disturbing though.
