I've a friend at work who renewed. Apparently they usually ask three questions about your health: are you diabetic, do you need corrective lenses and do you have heart trouble (or something like that.) She's diabetic and being the honest soul that she is, she answered yes. She got a form to fill out that must be at least 12 pages long all about her health, and I mean *all* (is it really necessary that they know every surgery/procedure you've had in the last 5 years?) It's very intrusive and a lot of it has no conceivable relation to one's ability to drive a car. She has 3 weeks to complete this or have her license pulled. She has to have her doctor and her eye doctor complete and sign this stuff (both of which charge to fill out forms.) Her MD told her she is the last of his patients he is going to do this for because he is certifying that she is fit to drive a car and if she suddenly becomes unfit, he feels that would leave him open to be sued by anyone she hurt in a car accident and he doesn't want that.

She really wishes now that she had lied about being a diabetic.
