And because there are very minor spoilers for SG-1 and SGA, the report is here:

I'm back home after going to Comic Con, where I had a lot of fun. SciFi allowed them to show SG-1, SGA and Battlestar Gallactica last night in a room with about 1500-2000 people. That was a hoot. The sound was a bit muddy and what with the audience reactions, I'm looking forward to rewatching those shows again to pick up some of the dialogue. The audience seemed quite entertained by the new characters in SG-1 as there was a lot of laughter all in the right places. SGA was greeted just as enthusiastically, as was BG. I guess it was a case of preaching to the choir.

Today, the SG-1 panel consisted of Brad Wright, Robert C. Cooper, Ben Browder, Beau Bridges, Christopher Judge, Amanda Tapping and the SciFi guy whose name is Tony Optican I think. TV Guide's Senior Editor, whose name I thought was Charles (?) but maybe it was Michael Davis (as he was one of the writers of the recent articles) was a moderator for this panel and SGA and BG. That worked well as he made sure to ask each person one or two insightful questions before they opened it up for questions from the crowd, and he was obviously someone who enjoyed the shows. Yet again, I didn't take notes and this will be from memory. Mild spoilers to follow:

Honestly, there wasn't that much that was new, and a lot of the answers was stuff we saw on the Low Down last week. When Ben came out, he jumped up on the table and took photos of the crowd. He also complimented the regulars Amanda, Chris and Michael and said they couldn't have been more accommodating to him, but Chris interrupted and said, "Oh, yeah we could!" At which point, Ben laughed and agreed. All of the cast seemed quite relaxed and playful with each other. The producers did not seem as frazzled as last year so they must be more at ease with the rigors of shooting two shows at once. Some asked what happened to Hammond since Jack has his job. BW said Hammond would be back during the mid season two parter and that would be explained then. Yet again, someone asked Amanda and Sam/Jack and she went all coy, but eventually said it was up to the viewer to infer stuff if they wanted to. Chris was asked to remove his hat so we could see his hair. He says it's Caesar's hairdo and it's a time honored alien do. Ben said he wanted to kiss the alien girls, and Chris kidded him that he hadn't figured out yet the alien on the show wasn't a girl.

The SGA panel consisted of BW, RCC, Joe Flanigan, Rachel Luttrell, Paul McGillion, David Hewlett, Jason Momoa, and Tony Optican. Torri was absent as she apparently home sick today. David was the fasted wit and quite funny. I forget what the question was, but David started going into that bit about Leadership from Letters from Pegasus. Rachel's mom is from Tanzania, and Jason's father or mother is Hawaiian. Flanigan talked about his flight with the Thunderbirds. His plane had to taxi back for a repair, and so his flight was delayed until after lunch. He admitted to losing his lunch during the flight. He also was wearing a lapel pin that indicated he'd experienced 9.5 Gs. Paul spoke with mainly an American accent, though he did a few answers with the Scottish brogue. Someone mentioned their award winning credits and asked if there was any chance we could get those back rather than the new abbreviated version. BW or RCC referred the question to Tony, but unfortunately, he had left for the moment. BW indicated the credits would at least be back in place for syndication and on the DVDS; if you want them back, he suggested writing to SciFi. Asked about cross-overs between the two shows, they indicated the scheduling is enough of a problem that it'd be too hard to do it; but having said that, he said Carter would be on Atlantis. Someone asked if there would a Goa'uld infesting a Wraith, and the whole room went, "ooooh!" but BW nixed it, I forget why. No plans to take the space ship Atlantis out for a ride/holiday. Joe apparently doesn't appreciate working with puppets (the Asgard?) and he was growing a beard for the next episode to be filmed. David was wearing the Suunto Vector wristwatch from the show.

After the Q&A, Joe, David and Paul went to the front of the stage and signed autographs.

I also went to the Lost/Kolchak/Invasion panel. Those last two shows seem interesting and worth giving them a try.
