My fretting was without merit. The So Cal Edison guy showed up on time on Monday and did his thing. Bob, the Arborist, went to town on the tree and made it look real pretty. It's still leaning though but at least it's balanced. I'll take a photo of it tomorrow and post it. It went smoothly and I didn't loose much sleep either from the noise (I worked that night.) And after 9 hours without power, the freezer was fine. Not even the ice cubes in the tray had started to melt. I was impressed.

Today we bought a new toilet (a Toto Ultramax.) Maybe next time Bunny visits she won't be terrorised by the facilities like last time (I'm still a little unclear on what happened....) The bathroom floor will be worked on Monday and Tuesday. I'm still looking for a better sink as the bathroom is kinda small and we need one that's 18 inches or less in length. We also bought a sheet of vinyl flooring. The color we liked turned out to be discontinued so after visiting 3 Lowes, we found some in stock. Normally, it was $10 a linear foot (12 foot long) but it was priced to move. We bought 6 x 12 foot for under $7 dollars. My jaw hit the floor at the cash register.

It's supposed to be cooler tomorrow so maybe I'll weed some more.

Oh, I should say since Brindle killed that rat, he's also killed a gopher and a mockingbird. All we saw of the bird was a pile of feathers. That was the reason we took him in as he was hanging about eating all the song birds. He's returned to serial killer mode.

And my Jack O'Neill action figure came today. He's fun. He also wants a Daniel doll to play with. *eg*

I'd like to borrow Brindle, please. We have a damn gopher motel in our yard.

Good to hear about the tree!

I ordered my new bathroom appliances on line. I'll see if I can find it again, because I needed a small sink, too.

Glad that everything went smoothly. A new toidy - woo-hoo! How about one of those Japanese jobs that's heated, con douche and does everything but wipe you (come to think of it, maybe they even do that)?

I've preordered a talking 18" Captain Jack figure from Dead Man's Chest. I don't know what possessed me (maybe Jack?).

LMAO! Make that "con bidet", not the other - that would be too much fun, lol.

A new toilet! I know this will sound weird, but I hope you'll post about it in a month or so and see if you still like it. *g*

We *really* need new toilets. This is a relatively new house (three years old--we had it built for us), but we didn't know the importance of choosing the correct toilets. Newer ones are made for water conservation, but what the toilet makers (and government regulations?) fail to take into account is that one will use quite a lot more water if one has to flush 2 or 3 times each time one uses the facility. And if it clogs more than once a day, that's *not* a good toilet. *g*

Anyway, my brother-in-law is a plumber and he recommended a specific brand/style of toilet, but I'd love to know for sure it it was going to solve our problem or be like the expensive dishwasher we bought (i.e. it'll never be as good as the really cheap one we used to have).

I sure will. I spent an evening doing a net search on toilets and found a lot of good things about the Toto Ultramax. The salesman at the store was also very impressed and recommended either that or the St. Thomas with Quattro flow. It was amusing to read 22 entries of people waxing poetically about their new toilet. But, yeah, mostly they said no more double flushing, no overflowing (our problem). A couple people said it occasionally didn't clean itself completely, but others didn't mention that. The toilet cost more ($507 with tax) but since trouble with the other toilet set up conditions that called the termites to settle in (wet wood) I'm frustrated enough to pay the higher amount. Of course, the 22 entries could have been made by a creative Toto salesman, so I will let you know.

That toilet that does everything? It's on sale right now for $2200, normally $2500. The washlet set one can put on a regular toilet was nearly a $1000 by itself. You know you can regulate the temperature, the water flow and the pulsations? *g*

Capt. Jack talks! Cool. Bring him to the next meeting!

The front yard has massive amount of gopher damage, so he's needed here for now. *g* I'm just happy he's figured out how to hunt them. Go Brindle!

The store had a couple of 20 inchers which I really want but the sad fact is that they will stick out 2 inches too far and probably cause people to hit their hips on the way in. They did have a couple of 18 inchers there so I know they're available. I just wanted one that had 'wings' to the side to put stuff on.

Hee. Thanks. I would really appreciate it. The way things are going around here, it could be another year before we can get new toilets, but it's on the list. :-) We'll probably buy one and try it out first before we replace the other two--just to make sure we like it.

Only $$2200? A mere pittance ;-)

Hopefully, I will have Jack in my possession by the next bash. The earliest they are supposed to be available is "some time in July", so if that's true, I should have it for Meg's, fingers crossed. I can't wait until the movie opens! The trailers look like sooo much fun. And Norrington is in both films #2 and 3, hehehe!
