I really thought there'd be tons of reports out by now, plus there were so many folks taking detailed notes, I kinda liked just adding to what they missed or omitted. Kinda hard to do if there are no con reports up. :::drums fingers on table top::: Huh.

Too bad I didn't take notes!

Thursday: Arrived at host hotel an hour early to find a line, which I joined. The line then started to loop about and go down some stairs. I was glad to be early. Unfortunately, the lanyards and wrist bands were hung up at customs so the the only thing we scored were the times we wanted on the studio tour bus. I socialized with friends until my ride showed up. We didn't go to the Welcome Party as it was extra, even to the gold pass tickets.

Friday: Had to wait in a line again to get the wrist bands. The people in the line said they'd been waiting for 2 hours already. We went to the bar and had a drink instead. Missed Garry Chalk and am annoyed by that. The whole deal about paying the big bucks to Creation is NOT to wait in lines and to have assigned seating. I go to cons to have fun, not WAIT IN LINES. Finally got our wrist bands and went inside to see BRUCE WOLOSHYN Digital effects supervisor at Rainmaker Animation & Visual Effects. We did miss his video presentation, which is the type of stuff I like. He'd been working on Night in a Museum for the past year and heard about SG1 being cancelled on the news. He called up and asked if he could work on the last ep. Apparently, he's in it? Something about having a big gun. Of course the spoiler phobes prevented anyone for saying anything about shows that had already been shown on air (just not in the States.) I'm sorry but I'm at a convention and I don't appreciate the censorship. If they don't want to hear the details, those folks can just stick their fingers in their ears. Hey, it's CANADA and SGA has been shown in CANADA. We should have been able to hear whatever anyone wanted to say about SGA, dammit. But back to Bruce. He said he was on set on the last day and as people finnished their bits, they left, but they all came back for the end which finished up about 1am. He said there were lots of tears.

Thor and his animatronic controllers were next and that was a lot of fun. Did you know Thor has tiny little teeth? They were making him have all sorts of expressions and told a lot of cute stories. Puppeteers are just sweet people.

Next was the short film BREAKDOWN presented by writer-director-producer JOHN BOLTON. Jeeze, he looked young, but he'd done a funny little film. Basically, he edited together the 'auditions'-- enough to tell the whole funny, over the top story. AT was in it, so her fans might want to check it out.

Next was ANDEE FRIZZELL Wraith Hive Queen in Stargate Atlantis. It was her first con visit and while she paced a lot, she didn't seem too nervous. She's the go to actress when they film a Wraith Queen and has portrayed about five of them? One fan asked her to say some lines so he could see how much was the make up and how much was her. I've always been uneasy about requests to actors to perform on demand, but she came through very well. She suddenly became haughty and powerful and sneered a command to kneel! Oh, yeah. It's all her. She shared some jokes about it wasn't a hardship to keep ordering Sheppard to his knees, or gesturing to another cast member and saying, "come on, food." She said Brent Strait was he was there kept saying things like, "do you think they'll have dwarves? I feel like a dwarf. Or a couple of hobbits on a stick. Maybe they will have a buffet."

I skipped the video game panel, the Fandemonium author. Don S. Davis was charming as ever. He seems to be in the mode of retiring from acting and spending more time on his art. When asked if he would be in either of the films, I think he repeated all things end. People asked him to repeat some stories I'd heard before so I don't think there was anything new mentioned there.

I had to skip the Cabaret as we didn't have a room in the host hotel on Friday night and my roommates had other plans for the night.

Okay, that is for Thursday and Friday. I'll get to Sat/Sun tomorrow night.

Spoiler-phobes annoy the shit out of me, frankly, especially in the circumstances you describe.

I was at a SG convention a while back - and I remember the spoilerphobes demanding that they not have their delicate brains shriveled with the knowledge. If that's the case, then they should delicately LEAVE THE ROOM if they don't want to hear spoilers.

Exactly. It would never occur to me to tell other people to shut up. If I don't want to hear something, I put my fingers in my ears and hum. At work, I refuse to hear any stories about animal cruelty so I've no problem removing myself from something I don't want to hear.

The absolute nerve of some people!

Bwah! That's hysterical!

She was imitating him and it was very funny. Who knew the Wraith Queen was a hoot?

Thanks for the report. Yours is the first I've read. :-)

It's too bad about the long lines. It sounds like a lot of fun besides that. :-)

It really is a good time. The guests are playful, and as a fan of the show, looking at all the behind the scenes stuff *is* fun.
