I enjoyed it. :)

First, I didn't care for the dragon, mainly because the physics of it wasn't right (the legs too heavy and large for a flying creature and the upstroke on the wings was articulated wrong.) That aside, I actually would have loved for there to be a dragon in SG1. I enjoyed the guessed names for the dragon, particularly Teal'c's suggestion of Puff. I love that soundless but effective way Teal'c overrode Mitchell's choice as to who was going to run the explosives out to the dragon--he did not disobey or contradict Mitchell's order, but he was going to restrain Mitchell until Mitchell made the correct choice. Also, I felt that Teal'c was terribly underused in this ep--so many of his scenes had no dialogue. The dragon was vented! That caught me by surprise, as it did to Teal'c, too. The riddle over the Guardian's name was appropriate and guessable, which was nice.

I thought the idea that the Merlin's lab was automatically gated to new planets was cool. The Daniel and Merlin bonding scene was kinda cute; Daniel still making friends, inspiring strangers to sacrifice themselves--the boy still has what it takes.

Daniel finally gets to stick his face into that face hugging downloading device. He's been itching to do that for years now. Merlin wished Daniel good luck, so he knew just who would be risking the download. On the other hand, Daniel renting out rooms in his head is getting a bit overused.

Mitchell was quite exasperated and angry to find Daniel unconscious. Daniel' knack for getting into trouble must give him nightmares, and if the show had gone on, I wonder if Mitchell would have gone grey as Jack did. *g* I do love Mitchell calling Daniel "Sunshine" and I'm sure all the Daniel/Mitchell fans were squealing with delight over the fact that Daniel recovered from a confused state when Mitchell called him Daniel instead of the usual "Jackson."

Ba'al and Carter. *g* It was very satisfying when Sam punched him out. This is the Sam I used to like; she was working on a problem and getting ticked off--much better than having her half of the episode about her love life and having Ba'al fall for her because gosh, everybody does!

Daniel's line, "Trust me, I can handle this." For a flash there was an expression across Daniel's face that I last saw in Need. The similarities are interesting: both Daniels were being affected and overwhelmed by an outside influence, and both were trying to convince his teammates that he was still in control. The telekinesis was a nice touch as was referencing that Jack had gotten the power to heal.

Lovely little scene between Vala and Mitchell was a gem. So true that the hardest part is watching your friends risk their lives. My only regret is that scenes of that intensity and insight should still be written for the original members of SG1, not just the new guys.

"Clearly, you work well together." LOL! Yes, Teal'c doesn't have much to say but when he does, it's gold.

Now, Carter and Ba'al do manage to shut down the auto dialer but it doesn't make sense that they would do so. I would have thought that they would have been more than happy to be shunted about in relative safety while Daniel built the Sangral. But they stop the hopscotching and before you can say "Indeed" Adria catches up to them.

Oooh! Daniel does an Oma and kills an attacking force with lightning! Exhausted, he uses his last energy to allow his teammates to get away.

And the show ends with Daniel captured again by a powerful woman who is both fancies his mind and his body. Yes, it has happened a few times already in the last ten years, but somehow that never seems to get old. *g*

I've heard it reported that Christopher Judge hates memorizing lines, which gives me a better perspective on the amount of dialogue he gets. He had so many fabulous wordless moments in this ep, and short one-liners with lots of punch, that if that's the way CJ prefers it, I love what he brings to his scenes beyond dialogue.

(And, yeah, that dragon. *facepalm* It would have been so much cooler if it had been realistic.)

I guess the nice thing about it was that even though CJ didn't have many lines, what he did was was wonderful and he did stuff that kept his character alive in the scene (unlike in the past when he'd just be standing around.) Now, whether that type of stuff was added in by the actors or was written, I guess we'll never know.

I do like Teal'c. I like Daniel and I like Vala. I'll miss them once the show ends.
