The Axe of Destruction sounds impressive, but I hope it has a veeeery long handle? Was the +7 your chances of survival? I guess a truck is better.

No, it's a very small and rather recursive joke. In roleplaying games like D&D, you roll a die when you attack to see if you hit. A good weapon gives a bonus to your die roll. So there's a filk song about RPGs that features the 'Axe of Destruction'. Plus 7 would be a pretty good bonus in classical D&D.
