Stargate SG-1 - Complete series set coming in October

Surprise! MGM is working on a complete series set for Stargate SG-1. Okay, it's not a surprise at all, since it was almost a given that there would be a big set released for the popular sci-fi series. The set will include all 50 discs from the 10 seasons of Stargate SG-1, plus 4 bonus discs filled with content that didn't make the original sets. Suggested retail price is $299.98 (minus whatever discount a retailer applies), and the set should be released on October 9.

Keep in mind this is early information, and may change.

Oh, bloody fucking hell. Can't they just release the bonus discs separately? I don't want to spend $300 to re-buy 9 seasons.

And THAT'S when I don't feel guilty about downloading stuff from friendly sites! However, perhaps (and I'm just saying perhaps) there will be another way to buy it reasonably. I hope.

Well, one could wait for a year and buy they sets that don't sell. Or wait til a friend uploads the files somewhere. Or at least until someone buys them and tells the rest of us if it is really something worthwhile. Boy, if that isn't screwing the fans over without lube.

And I know I'll just go curse and scream a bit. I'm not paying $300.00 for some extras I haven't seen yet. My SG-1 love has some bounds. I'd probably not own all the series if Best Buy hadn't had a two for one sale last year.

You just know those deleted scenes we bitch about never being on there are on there. Maybe they'll stick a few of them in the movies to give us added incentive to buy those!

Maybe the added footage won't be all that great? Maybe it won't be bloopers and all the cool "oh! Jack is touching Daniel again!" shots that they edited out? Maybe it'll be explosions and such.

I've heard via someone else that it's the SciFi specials (including that cheesy "Science of Stargate" special).

That's from S8's Reckoning Part 2, when Daniel takes control and grabs Replicarter's wrist. "Trying to leave? I don't think so. A little more time in Danny's world." (or words to that effect).

Yeah. I was gonna go out and buy S10 but now I don't know. If it's really cool stuff, I'll probably end up buying the superset. But maybe it won't be all that great. Damn them.
