Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix
Jul. 13th, 2007 04:20 amI really liked it. This book was the one I liked the least (so far) and I was hoping the movie would make the story tighter and they did. Very enjoyable and the time went by really fast. We went to the 10:15Pm showing and there were maybe 30 people in the audience so I was really happy we live in a sleepy little suburban area. I haven't seen a film at the theaters twice in years but I think I'll need to see this one again. Lots of quick imagery, and good performances. Can't say more without getting into spoilers, and I want to think about it.

Date: 2007-07-14 01:03 am (UTC)The film is dark but so is the book. It's all dark from here on out so I'm a bit confused by that criticism. What I liked was it cut back on the overwhelming teenage angst. All the issues were there but they weren't labored on, thank god. I also pictured someone like you did for Umbridge, but like you said this actress is good and she is so chilling. She just makes your hackles rise.
Luna wasn't quite how I pictured her but this actress is very, very good. To me, Luna didn't really connect with reality except for a few inspired, lucky instances, but this take on the character is one of she is unique and has a much different perspective but is quite aware nontheless. Just different values. The late night showings are the way to go in my opinion. No disturbances except for a lot of hooting and such when Harry kissed Cho.
Glad to hear Thistle has had an epiphany. I guess you'll just have to learn to deal. *g*
And I am SO glad you reserved the room! I went and checked late last night and Thursdays were completely booked at our hotel. I checked again today and all the hotels are 'red' out. I hoped it was some sort of programing error but I was not looking forward to telling you we were out of luck, apparently. So, we're set to go, except for you getting Saturday off. Good luck on that.
