So, what are you looking forward to and why?

Here's a nice clickible grid:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007-08_United_States_network_television_schedule

What seems intriguing to me:

Sunday:
Aliens in America could be okay I guess, but am concerned about it only be a half hour show. A Muslin exchange student.... I have to admit to some curiosity about how they will approach the subject.

Monday:
I'm hopeful for "Journeyman." "Dan Vasser thought he had it all: a loving wife, a great son and a steady job. But life suddenly throws him a curve ball. Dan finds himself traveling into the past with a purpose – impacting people's lives for the better – and sometimes the worse. While doing so, Dan reconnects with Livia Beale, his ex-fiancée, whom he lost in a mysterious plane crash. Now armed with the knowledge of the present, will he be able to save her? What would that mean to his own future? And how would it change a man who thought he had it all?" It stars Kevin McKidd who was Lucius Vorenus in "Rome." Premieres 9/24 after Heroes at 10pm.

Tuesday:
"Reaper" could be interesting. Unfortunately, I have a knee jerk reaction to stories that celebrate a life style of totally irresponsibility, self-indulgence and laziness even though this one came with a price. And, it's opposite House so I doubt I'll be making the attempt to watch it.

Wednesday:
"Pushing Daisies" is a "forensic fairy tale" that focuses on Ned, a piemaker with a mysterious ability to make the dead live again. The gift is not without its complications, however: if he touches this being a second time, they'll be dead permanently. If they live for more than 60 seconds, somebody else nearby will die. (Quote: "It's a random proximity thing") [6]. It's a gift that he puts in good use to help a private investigator friend, Emerson Cod and his childhood sweetheart, the once-dead Charlotte "Chuck" Charles. Premieres 10/3, on ABC at 8pm.

At 10pm, there are two possibilities. I was gonna watch "Life" because it seemed to have Claudia Black in it. I heard in passing somewhere where she bowed out of it because she was expecting again.

The other choice could be a guilty pleasure, "Dirty Sexy Money." "Some people say money is the root of all evil. They may be right. Nick George's whole life has been lived in the shadow of the Darling family, but as an adult he's leading the perfect life as an idealistic lawyer, until his father's suspicious death. The absurdly wealthy Darlings of New York have asked him to take over his father's job as their personal lawyer, but the money that will allow him the freedom to be an altruistic do-gooder is only part of the picture. That same money pulls him into the dubious doings of the Darling clan. Power, privilege and family money are a volatile cocktail." It stars Peter Krause and I find him likable.

Friday:
"Moonlight" "The show is a horror series that follows a private investigator, Mick St. John (Alex O'Loughlin), whose bride, Coraline (Shannyn Sossamon), turned him into a vampire on the couple's wedding night 60 years prior; he struggles in the present day with his love for a mortal woman, Beth Turner (Sophia Myles), and his dealings with other vampires in the city." Premieres Friday, 9pm CBS on 9/28.

Saturday:
"Torchwood!" "Torchwood" premieres Saturday, September 8th at 9pm et/pt on BBCA.

Also, I wonder when we get the next season of "Life on Mars?" Soon I hope!

I find it interesting that "Lost" isn't on the grid. I suppose it will show up later?

Bunny was telling me about a new series called "New Amsterdam." The lead character is immortal. It's a Fox show. It doesn't seem to be on the grid.

So, what did I overlook?

I saw Pushing Daisies at Comic Con and it shows promise.

I find it frustrating how so many new shows have a supernatural bent to them and yet the actual SUPERNATURAL show gets such short shrift.

Are you up early or up late? I'm up late. I'm very glad to see you up and about in any case! I hope you're feeling a bit better now?

Well, supernatural shows have been around a while. Reaper sounds a bit like Brimstone, Highlander had immortals before New Amsterdamn, Moonlight is vaguely like Forever Knight, and Pushing Daisies might be in tone like Dead Like Me.

I have to say the shows I picked have a supernatural bent because that and sf interests me.

I was disgusted that WB didn't promote SPN more at Comic Con. Where were the give aways?! Naw, it's not the new show's fault (and how many will survive even to finish the first year?) It's the WB's fault for not promoting it.

Hey, you see both boys are going to be at the Chicago Creation Con? I bet you're going!

I'll definitely be giving Pushing Daisies and Moonlight a try. I will TIVO the Big Shots eps with Paul Blackthorne, just to see his gorgeousness (and hope for some pool/steam room shots because he has an incredible body). Oh dear - how shallow of me .

A guilty pleasure, at least once or twice, will be Caveman, just because I love the commercials so much.

I was thinking about Big Shots because of the actors then I saw an ad for it that turned me off. All these powerful, wealthy men feeling put upon? Give me a break! Please let me know if it's better than the ad made it seem.

Same with Cavemen. I've got too many programs to keep up on that the secondary list of 'it could be interesting' won't be tivo'd.

Big Shots definitely doesn't strike me as a chick series ;-) and I don't like the idea of feeling sorry for their 'bad boy' behavior. I don't really expect to like it, I just want to see Paul Blackthorne ;-)

I saw some clips from Caveman/men, and my first thought was, if they don't go for total humor, they're sunk. And they're not goingn for total humor....

I don't see a lot frankly. Family Guy of course, which apparently is doing a whole Star Wars tribute thing as its premiere episode, so that should be a laugh!
Bones...I love that show more and more. Such a great ensemble cast, and good stories too.
New Amsterdam. I had seen a little blurb about this one night, but had forgotten which channel. Fox, eh! The official site says it's coming soon, but doesn't specify. It's about an immortal detective called Amsterdam, who was made immortal in 1642 or something, involving a native American (oh brother!) in New Amsterdam, now New York. It stars Nicolaj Coster Waldau who was in Kingdom of Heaven (I don't remember him. Maybe he was the leprosy ridden king with the mask?) I looks intriguing anyway, so will probably get cancelled after 2 episodes!
Moonlight I will try, although I hadn't heard of it 'til you mentioned it.
I'm already fed up with House and Ugly Betty. Blood Ties returns as well, so thank heaven for that.
Torchwood of course. That's it. Mostly nothing on the major networks.
