Ugly Betty:Oooh, Marc's gonna get a boyfriend! I like the guy, too. Funny and smart, and able to see past Marc's shallowness. I know relationships on this show are very transitory, but I like this one quite a bit.
Smallville:First, I guess we know Vengeful Lana by her carefully modulated tone of voice. Blech. At least Lionel is back and he and Lex aren't alienated--at the moment. For me, Lionel's evilness is goal orientated; he's a very ambitious man who doesn't let anything stand in his way. Lex's 'evilness' is 95% laminated onto him by other people's interpretation; anything he does they put a 'evil' spin on it no matter how beneficial his actions are. Lana on the other hand is supposed to be a good person who knows right from wrong. She knows her intentionally illegal acts (framing Lex for her death) and other acts of cruelty (imprisoning Lionel with a friggin' bear trap?!) are worse in my mind. She's a hypocrite. How can she be considered a sympathetic character?
Supernatural:I haven't been watching close enough to know what's the deal with the Colt. Is there some reason why the bullets suddenly can kill demons? Did Ruby somehow help with the demon-killing bullets since she had a demon-killing knife? Does this make her an especially powerful demon?
Also, she said she was gonna be Sam's fallen angel. Are all demons falling angels or just Lucifer? Since they made a point of saying no one knows what Lucifer looks like, could Ruby be Lucifer and she'll be using Sam and Dean to consolidate her hold over all the demons?
SGA: Travelers God, how I hate Mallozzi episodes. We had the two dimensional characters and the comic book plot. We had the countdown, but it was implied (which of the rescuers will get there first?) We had the running around the corridors, too. I think because Mallozzi is a self-centered pig, he doesn't understand that having Sheppard using another culture to get his porn fix in isn't that funny. That having Sheppard flirt with the pretty psychotic captain isn't appropriate. I can't help but think that Daniel, or Jack or McKay, while they *may* have flirted once (say, batted their eyes maybe?) they would not have lost track of what's important. McKay's paranoia wouldn't have let him get too distracted. Jack and Daniel would have asked about their captor's situation and either of them would have perused either a truce or a diplomatic solution. Mallozzi had a weak idea for a script and dragged it out for 46 minutes. I think this was his attempt at copying Prometheus Unbound. About the only new thing he's added is "the twist;" he had the Wraith feeding off of Larrin. About halfway through, I thought Sheppard was doing okay though. The end result is they just let him loose. Kinda gave the impression his whole experience was just dumb luck.

Date: 2007-10-27 10:06 am (UTC)If Sam was supposed to be the general of the demon army, does that mean that Azazel was trying to take over hell?

Date: 2007-10-27 12:18 pm (UTC)There seems to be both fallen angels and demons in Supernatural. YED was Azazel and one of the fallen ones called the Grigori and sometimes thought of as the standard bearer and leader of the army of hell and basically right hand man of Lucifer.
I doubt very much Ruby is Lucifer or even a fallen angel. Lucifer wouldn't need Sam to lead the army, the army would follow their God plus she just doesn't seem that powerful *shrug*

Date: 2007-10-27 05:54 pm (UTC)This produced much angst, because the boys kept using the bullets to kill OTHER demons than Mr. Yellow Eye who had killed Mom. They were always good, angsty reasons to use up the bullets, like saving each others' lives or Dad, etc. So Dean did finally kill the old Yellow Eyes and the gun was out of magical bullets. That's why Bobby was dismantling it--to see if he could figure out what was so special and re-create the demon-killing part of the gun. Apparently, Demon Barbie helped him do this.
I'm still not particularly interested in the Demon Barbie character, but she's a bit intriguing--and much better than Jo!
SGA: Yeah, the weakest one of the season so far, but I've enjoyed the first four episdoes quite a lot. In fact, I was amazed that last week's Doppelganger was written by M&M, since I liked it a lot. On a VERY rare occasion M&M can do okay, but as I said VERY rare. At least Travelers was a LOT better than their episodes Irresistabe and Irresponsible from last year.
