I was up there at the elephant seal beach a couple of years ago, right at this time, and the beach was *packed*. I got some amazing pix. No babies when I was there, though.
My favorite part of the aquarium, besides the otters, is hands-down the jellyfish. I luuuuv jellies!
My 'driving Hwy 1 at Xmas' tale? 100% pea soup fog. Scary as hell. Glad you were luckier!
