Blue Man Group
Jan. 13th, 2008 02:13 amI first saw them at the Luxor maybe more than ten years ago. I remember laughing until my sides ached and being overwhelmed by all the words that were so witty and having a completely overstimulated fantastic time.
Thinking I'd like to experience that again, we went to see them again tonight in Anaheim. And I was so bored. It is 80% a concert now, with minimal humor. The multiple layers of text is 99% gone. The wonderful absurdity is replaced by a heavy handed message that I got in the first ten minutes because Pink Floyd has thoroughly explored this theme in The Wall and did it *SO* much better.
Wow, I am so disappointed.

Date: 2008-01-13 07:39 pm (UTC)Anway, now I am very happy my friends have been cheap, because it sounds like something I wouldn't like all that much, and I would certainly feel bad if I dragged someone else to it. I'm not much for concerts myself--prefer a storyline, or a play, or something--so you have saved me much money and potential embarrassment. Thank you!
