Varmit report
Sep. 22nd, 2004 11:05 pmThe raccoon family is coming by maybe only one out of three nights now. The babies are almost as big as momma, well, two of the babies; the other three are still noticably smaller. They don't show off anymore and are more feral in their behaviors. It used to be that they'd run up to the door and do all sorts of cute things; now they're just as likely to slink back into the shadows until I close the door. The last few times I've seen them, they've spent about half their time milling about in the backyard foraging for food even though kibble was available. I saw one walking around chewing on something that looked like a celery stalk or large scallion it was holding in its little hand. Then I saw another raccoon pull up a naked lady flower and start chomping on it. I guess they do like bulbs after all. Anyway, Momma coon has done another stellar job at raising another batch of kids it seems.
