You know that bag of cookies that has the pink and white iced animal crackers along with chocolate sandwich and a chocolate chip cookie? That company that's been around for 92 years and was probably your favorite cookie when you were a kid?

They went out of business on Monday. If you want to munch down memory lane, you should go out and buy a bag while they are still on the shelves.

I loved those cookies! What a shame. Another good company bites the dust.

And Spotty, you can bring me some iced raisin when you come. ;+>=

Sounds like the owners are greedy heartless bastards. That's a real shame.

I did find some iced raisins so you can have all that Spotty finds.

I bought a bag and they didn't have those iced raisin ones! I feel cheated. In fact, I don't think they were in the last bag I bought either. Those were really good! Probably someone at the factory picking those out and selling them on ebay. Those bastards!

Oh my gosh, my cousin works for them in Arizona and has for many years. Jeez, I'd better check on him -- thanks for the heads up.

I'm sorry to hear that. The newspaper article mentioned that the workers may bring suit but I don't know if that will be helpful to your cousin.

Thanks, and as it turns out he left Mother's and went into real estate a while back. I just hadn't heard about it. Of course being in real estate right now is no picnic either!

I sure did love the elephant cookies when I was a kid. :)

As soon as I found out I went to the store and found two of my favorite; the animal cookies and the taffy. I bought several bags and put them in the frig. I hope they freeze well. Oh well we'll see.

Are you gonna sneak a couple out whenever? Or are you gonna figure out how to clone them? *g* I've yet to find the taffy. It's pretty good?

I bought some Taffy ones as well, but I didn't see the variety bag, but there were bags of iced raisin ones. Do you want me to get you some? They were at Pavilions. They also had the iced oatmeal ones, which I quite like. I looked on the bag to see why I like them, and they have raisin goop in them, so that explains it! The Mother's brand is the one most like the crunchy British cookies that I grew up with. I can't stand those soft squishy ones...they always seem to me, like they've been out of the tin too long, and have gone stale.
Sad that a good business has gone under.

I stopped at another market today and bought a couple of bags of the iced raisins so if you buy more, give 'em to Bunny.

There are not a lot of crunch cookies out there, is there? At least McVitties can be bought here.
