Despamming announcement
Oct. 3rd, 2004 02:00 amOh, I forgot to mention. I'm trying out one of the spam filters at earthlink. It would like me to import my address book so it would know which emails to let through, but it thinks Outlook is the only format out there. Apparently, the initial emails of all my friends are put in the suspect file and they are sent a pissy letter stating they are trying to pull a fast one by spamming me. I go to the suspect file and either give my blessing or id the bastards as spammers. The blessed will have no further problem with their emails. Obviously, this will take a while but please bear with me. I'm getting 100-200 spams a day and I'm so tired of it. You're all wonderful, and after all, I'd do it for you..... :-) Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Date: 2004-10-03 04:41 pm (UTC)Luckily for me, I get very little to no actual spam at my EL addy, because I never, ever use it as a contact addy. I have a 'send me your spam, you jerks' contact addy for whenever I have to sign up for something or give an edress. But yeah, I did actually give up my original EL addy because of spam. That, and I was tired of it ;-)
The sun is not out - heee!

Date: 2004-10-04 04:25 am (UTC)I think tonight I'll try to put in my friends email individually, and I already added a hunanistic plea to the pissy reply. Change is always disruptive but I just have to do this.
I put my yahoo addy down when I have to put something on a form, and strangely, that hardly gets any spam. Go figure!
