National Treasure
Nov. 30th, 2004 02:50 amI decided to skip Alexander for now and go for the fun movie that I can enjoy without wincing through, and I did enjoy National Treasure. Yes, it has flaws and inconsistencies and implausibilities, not to mention Nicholas Cage or that it borrowed heavily from The Da Vinci Code, but I still had fun. *g*
I liked that the lead characters respected history and found it interesting. I like Sean Bean, who was the villian Ian Howe and Justin Bartha, who played the sidekick, Riley Poole. I like that Sean Bean was quite a likeable villian, but he was also a bit scary with how relentless he was. But as always, I liked the sidekick best. What's that all about, anyway?? Perhaps they're allowed to be funny, smart, and a bit vulnerable? It was interesting that I found Riley's likeability quite a bit less in that last scene.
Anyway, I wonder if this will spark any fanfic? It does have Sean Bean. I'm not aware of much fanfic that is generated by any Nicolas Cage characters.
