Just heard on the news...
Nov. 26th, 2008 01:39 pm...one in eight Americans are living on the edge of hunger. I googled that cause I was stunned and found this at a CNN site: "Some 691,000 children went hungry in America sometime in 2007, while close to one in eight Americans struggled to feed themselves adequately even before this year's sharp economic downturn, the Agriculture Department reported Monday."
Looking at the world from a historical perspective, I know civilizations come and go. The Egyptians were around for thousands of years, the Greeks, the Romans mulitiple hundreds.... Then you got your Dark Ages ("Well, they didn't call them the Dark Ages because it was dark").... Everything rises and falls.
I just didn't expect to be here for the fall.
