I found out that:
News!! The Starz/Encore Westerns channel in the US will begin airing AS&J on January 1, 2005. They will kick off with a 12 hour AS&J marathon on New Year's Day from 6 AM to 6 PM. Starting January 2, the show will air Monday through Friday at 5-6 PM. Starz has the rights to all 48 1-hour episodes.

This is fantastic news. Apparently this station runs the shows uncut. And they've taken the trouble to digitized Gunsmoke, so there's hope they might do AS&J, too. And best of all, I get that station and I have a DVD recorder! The last few weeks, I'd been thinking of what machines I'd have to move about to haul out those old beta tapes and get them on DVD, and now I don't have too. This is such a WOOHOO!!! moment!
