GG is still here, new date to move out is Sunday.

Yes, it's Thursday night and Garage Guy is still here. Extention #2 has him leaving on Sunday. Supposedly the basement is not quite ready but will be on Saturday. It all sounds so reasonable, but the inner alert went off when GG called tonight from work to say, among other ramblings, that he hoped this guy wasn't jerking him around, because, you know, he has trust issues lately. (NO! Really?! Is someone taking advantage of you?) When I asked "What's up?" he paused and with great drama said, "What isn't!" The bottom line was he said he would be acting flakely now because he just found out his only living relative (he must have forgotten he told me about his competitve brother) his grandmother who is 92 is in the hospital because she fell and has kidney failure. One would think he'd be wanting to visit her.... He also mentioned, twice, that he was quite tired and would be coming home straight from work (but as we close the curtains and pretty much don't invite him in at night, this does not relate to us.) Mom then explained that she's noticed that when he tells her twice or more that he'll do something, he does the exact opposite. He usually gets home around 10:30 and now it's after 12 and the garage light has not gone on. I guess she was right, so good call Mom!

On Monday, instead of helping out, like he'd said, he went off to get his paycheck. Then he called to say he was going out with a friend for a while.
Mom had overheard him on the phone him telling someone, "But I haven't got the money now. Yes, I got paid today but I haven't had a chance to cash the check." Loan shark or drug dealer, do you think?

He did have Mom drive him to the vets where he had Carly checked out and given her shots (including distemper because that's a problem right now in our general area.) The vet said she has a broken tooth and he could take care of that for $400. Isn't that a little much? Our cat's dental bills aren't anything like that. Of course, that's a 12-18 pound cat vs. a 80 dog, but still! Perhaps that's what was wrong with her that night.

Mom's talking about getting 4 padlocks to lock the gates in the fences around our yard. GG noticed one of the home alarm devices next to a door and asked what that was.

:::Sinking feeling, sinking feeling, sinking feeling:::

Tomorrow looks to be a great day for weeding. It's only half an acre, right?
