GG spends a few hours painting new basement/apartment and gossip is exchanged with neighbor. GG will now leave on Tuesday or Wednesday. How many extentions is this now?

GG won't be leaving til Tuesday or Wednesday. The good news is that Mom drove him to the basement place where he spent a few hours helping the new landlord paint, *and the place actually exists!* Huzzah!! Apparently it needs some more paint tomorrow and then needs to air out. The bottom line is that all those who were betting he'd still be here in 2005 might have to pay up. (I hope!)

I was talking to the neighbor, H, that now lives where GG used to live. Her theory is that GG has some mental illness but is functional. Mom piped up and said GG was talking to her and telling her a story about how he went to conseling after his mom died and they just let him talk and then gave him all sorts of drugs, which he eventually quit talking. H talked briefly about how her daughter is schizophrenic and how compliance in taking their drugs is the hardest part about treating people with mental illness. My reaction (mentally of course)was "WHAT THE FUCK!?!?" I have to admit I didn't see that one coming! Mom was more concerned that GG had said that a non-doctor had handed out so many drugs; I think she was assuming that GG was fine and that the drugs were given to him to just move him out of there. I would have liked to have known that little tidbit, though. That's sad about H's daughter. H is kind of quiet and tentative so I thought she'd never married. Now I wonder what sort of nightmares she's lived though.

H also filled us in on all the drama that's been taking place; police cars to two houses and two other neighbors nearly coming to blows in the middle of the street! One of the things shouted out was, "well, if you don't like it, you can sue me like you sue everyone else around here!" Crikey!! I asked her if she thought her landlord might be the one that wrote the scolding and vaguely threatening letter about my yard. She didn't think so and said landlord was pretty live and let live. H did say that the family that lived behind her (even with our house) are both cops, as is the lady that lives in the converted garage above them! So...the person I think wrote it is a cop, which could explain why it stopped short of a threat. "You better do something about your yard and soon." Anyway, it puts a whole new spin on things. H was very enlightening. She also said she loves our yard with all it's birds and flowers and peacefulness. She thinks we're so far back from the street and buffered by the greeness that we're actually in a different continent and time zone. She might be right.

As I look out at the weeds that are now closing in on 4 foot high, it might be the Lost Continent!! Mwhahahahahaha!

I did spend a few hours weeding today. You can't see any difference though. GG went past at sunset walking his dog. He gave me a thumbs up and said it looked good. I can't tell you how much his encouraging words mean to me. No, really, I can't. :::snort:::
