Spoilers for Lost
Well, they had me worried that they were going to kill Locke. Locke is the reason I started watching this show so they were dancing on thin ice. The good stuff is that Locke doesn't die and there are a couple of nice scenes between Locke and Sayeed (another favorite of mine.) The Sawyer smitten will have a few fun crumbs as well. The annoying parts were any scene Jack was in. Is he supposed to be likeable? Am I just missing the point with him? I thought his actions were revolting. I know he's a drama queen, but really, he's going to get someone killed with his stupidity.

Spoilers for Without a Trace
And I think the coin finally drops for Sam about why it is a bad thing for a subordinate to sleep with their superior. Keep it out of the office, says the man who cheated on his wife to sleep with her. How many eps have we had about Jack's domestic troubles that have disturbed their office environment? Can she tell him he's a hypocrite without risking her job? No. And I'll ask the same question, is Jack supposed to be likeable?

As for Martin, I can't say I blame him at all. He's a sensitive guy, not a doormat. Good for him.

The whole Jack & Sam hypocrisy was what made me stop watching Without a Trace - their entire relationship was being touted as this great romance and we're supposed to applaud the fact he was cheating on someone else? Pah. And then they started sidelining my favourite character (Danny) and not letting him and Martin spar like they used to and I just lost interest.

This season has been Danny-lite, all right, but next week's ep looks like it will feature him a lot. Something to do with his brother.

We use the pause button on Tivo a lot to rant in real time about how wrong that whole Jack/Sam crap is. Why they thought this is a good move I'll never know.

As soon as I heard that Sam was going to be getting her hooks into Martin this season I knew I wasn't going to bother - why is it that the characters I like the least always get the most screentime?

Gee, Danny gets one whole episode focussed on him, isn't he lucky? ;)

If it's focused on Danny, there will be less chance for F*cked up Sam's Love Life. It's a double win for the viewer. I'll take what I can get. ;)

I like Martin. I like the Martin and Danny moments because that's when the show seems most relaxed and enjoyable. Both those boys have had precious little screen time. It's irksome that Martin's screen time only got increased to give Sam something to angst about people finding out about.

I can't stand Sam - she's a frighteningly poor example of womanhood. If the team was Jack, Martin, Danny and Viv, that would work very well for me. I just don't understand why so many shows feel the need for this stupid romance crap - it's not romantic, and it gets in the way of the interesting stuff.

Oh, I hear you, sister. Obviously, this type of thing is crowbared into otherwise good shows because someone in the mighty movie making machine thinks they will get better ratings, because many times, it is obviously not a part of the original set up of the show. And it always falls flat, because they drive off part of their audience by that choice, and then when the characters hop in the sack, the lowest common demominator types get bored and leave. Show is over, folks; time for green pastures.

Argh!!

I really hoped that in having Martin get in on with Sam, she's emerge less damaged, but clearly that isn't happening. Sigh. Looks like TPTB enjoy her damagedness. She should have learned her lesson from the affair with jack - jack is a pig. Like you, I have no idea why he is meant to be an appealing character. Martin I adore (as you know, as you feed my addiction beautifully) and Danny is great too (not nearly enough slash out there, sadly). Any other show the two young cute guys would be kicking ass. Here they mope or have nothing to do 'cos the cameras are focused on Mr Sleaze and Ms Dim.

The only glimmer of hope is that Sam looked stunned when Martin said he didn't want to do this anymore. I think she was stunned that Martin thought she was too screwed up to get further involved with, which leads me to believe she hasn't taken an objective look at herself. Was there regret on her face over that breakup? Possibly, but I don't hold out hope that they will follow that thread. Too many times, another writer in a show will come along and put his spin/kink into the that relationship. It actually reminds me of the one time I participated in a round robin and how frustrating it was that two people were on the same page, and one person was 180, and the other people did a fair job of following whoever was last to write. I guess it's up to the showrunner to provide continuity on TV shows.

BTW, did I mail you some disks recently, like in the last 6 weeks or so? What ep was the last one, please? And while Sam/Jack is annoying, at least you get to see some more EC. *g*
