The coon family comes by nearly every night. As you can see, they are getting bigger and a little more tolerant of me and the camera. This little guy is having fun playing with grapes. I put up seven new photos at the photobucket site. In one of them, you can see mom laying on a bag of pea gravel (bought to fill in a low spot) as a mattress to take a nap on while her kids play with food and other 'toys.' I figure it retains some heat from the day maybe, therefor is nice for a nap?
Tomorrow I go to a SG Creationcon. Will they have new photos? Will Shanks still have a beard? Lousy timing as I don't feel festive anymore.
Then there is the news from London. I still haven't heard from Kitty and feel unsettled and worried. BBCA has had the better coverage so we've left it on most of the day. The Londoners have been so brave, so resilient. I love that city and feel wretched that it has been hurt so. I can not comprehend how people can rationalize this type of activity as something to be desired. That way leads to chaotic thoughts about the people who set off those bombs. I just can't go there, too emotional. Meanwhile, Bush has been his usual vacuous self. I could go on at length about the whole thing but my feelings certainly aren't unique to me. I'll just end by saying I hope my country gives 110% of support to the Brits without tacking on any self-interested agendas. My heart goes out to all those who are traumatisted and I wish I could do something to help.
A cute raccoon photo could be considered inappropriate, but his little face is so innocent and sweet, so void of all the traits that separates him from us 'superior' beings.

Date: 2005-07-08 05:18 pm (UTC)I was talking to a few people and we were surprised and annoyed that none of our media, whether the local news, the national, or MSNBC, CNN, etc., gave as much coverage to the bombings as we thought they should. i want to know everything that's going on over there just as much as the Londoners, and I feel like we're being cheated in our news. I wish I'd thought to turn on BBCA.
The lil' guy is precious. I love the way it looks like his shirt-sleeves are rolled up and he's doing the dishes or something.
I saw "March of the Penguins" with Joyce on the 4th. You would love it!
