It may seem like heresy, but I had the opportunity to go to a movie tonight, and instead of Serenity (which is on my list of films to see) I went to see Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, and I had a great time.
What a fantastic film! I've always enjoyed how rich the images are. The lighting, the camera angles, all that type of stuff. And all the little details that make it so rich, like Gromit locking the car doors once the Were-rabbit began to appear. It's silly but I've got a bit of a crush on Gromit. He was so brave when he went up in the plane; I knew he was going to take the golden bullet/carrot for Wallace. It was such a sweet wonderful moment when Wallace also put his life on the line for Gromit. The Wallace and Gromit films have so many elements that make *good* films; why can't 'serious' films manage that type of quality?

Anyway, I digress. I should mention that all the jokes were delightful, too. We were LOL quite a lot, and there was only one other person in the audience besides us. I'll go see Serenity on Friday if it's still playing.

After the film, we went out to the Hometown buffet, and I'll tell you something dorky I did. I was at the taco bar, waiting for some incredibly slow people (who dodged in front of me) to finish gathering their ingredients. Thinking I'd just build mine in reverse, I started with the sour cream. It wasn't until I finished the whole thing that I saw the 'real' sour cream. It turns out I made a taco with horseradish. Why they had the horseradish between the lettuce, the cheese and two types of salsa, I'll never know. Anyway, since I like horseradish, I ate the damn thing anyway. It cleared my sinuses. To punish them, I stole an extra set of cookies and slipped them in my purse. I'm eating them right now. Aren't I supremely wicked? Don't answer that!

NCIS...
was good. I missed last week's ep, so I was a bit surprised to see the Mossad agent joining the team. I think I'm alone in finding Tony truly irritating, and as she looks to be able to bug him as much as he bugs every woman on the show, I'm good with her character. It's too bad they seem to be setting up conflict between her and Abby. I don't see the point in that myself. Anyway, it was a good ep. I'm still laughing over 'Poo Boy!'

Boston Legal...
was delightful as always. We finally got to see Alan and Denny in bed together. I was surprised at all the suggestive chatter they had first. Alan really seemed to be baiting Denny about the fish catching. At first I thought Denny and Alan in the Canadian court was embarrasing, but then when they started slagging America, I relaxed. The writers sure hit political types dead on. Brilliant. 'The salmon will be extinct in 20 years but I'll be dead in 10. It doesn't concern me.' The Betty White arc is very bizzare. Did she kill the little guy because she feared for her own safety or because her religious beliefs encouraged her to stop before he killed again? I'm not sure a normal person could take a life that easily without feeling threatened themselves.

BTW, Cutiepie came by for munchies tonight. We've not seen her for quite a while, but her fourpack are regulars.
