I was being nosey and checking the referers to my fic website when I found that one led to a link from a pay porn site. The link to my story is on a page touting: The best forced black cock. While there's a lot to ponder about that, the link doesn't actually go to a Teal'c story, but to Forced Perspective. Hey, paysite! Get your links right!

So, what does this mean? Pay porn sites are visual. Fan fic is written. I had thought that adult fan fic would not be of interest to a pay porn site and I've never spent any time thinking about it. And what about risk? If the anti-porn government agencies allow the pay sites, then this story should not be at any increase risk, right? I know I'm a little paranoid, but as I said, I haven't considered the ramifications.

And now I'm off to finally see Brokeback Mountain.

"Brokeback Mountain" is an amazing experience. I felt shattered after I'd seen it. It's gorgeous and haunting and made me think about all the choices we make or refuse to make in our lives. I'll look forward to reading what you think about it.

How unsettling indeed. Can you write to them and tell them to remove it, or would they just larf at you? Ick.

Hopefully will see Brokeback next weekend.

Well, I scanned the sea of small print links at the bottom which was a litany of kinks. There was no contact info. Clicking on the home page looked to be a real tarbaby of 'pay for your porn here.' I can't image they'd pay attention to any request I'd have anyway. It is curious that someone there reads fanfic though. One of the other stories there had to do with the Creature from the Black Lagoon. *g*

It is gorgeous, and it is haunting. I totally agree about the choices thing. Innis really irritated me, though. I've not read the story, but with what they showed, I'm not sure his life would have been much different if he'd never met Jack. He seemed emotionally crippled from his childhood and I'm not sure his relationship with Alma was one where he'd ever connect with her as he did to Jack. And whereas Jack was bi but more attracted to men, it never showed Innis even noticing another guy. I'm left wondering if he so bonded to Jack simply because he was the first person to ever reach him emotionally. I related much more to Jack.

When the two had that argument where Innis was wanting to scale back their relationship and Jack admitted to sleeping with other men, Innis theatened him. I know it was because of the depth of his pain, but Innis had a tendancy for violence. I was suddenly sure that Jack would be killed and Innis was going to do it in a fit of passion. I guess I'm saying that I never became sympathetic to Innis. I feel like a bad fan for not loving this film 100% and that I must have watched it wrong. :::sigh:::

But it was beautiful and I have spent a lot of time thinking about it.

Creature from the Black Lagoon slash, or het? (Like it makes a difference, lol). Well, it takes all kinds - literally, I guess!

I saw BBM again last weekend, and I can tell this is a movie that I will want to watch many more times to come.

I’ve been reading a ton of stuff about it on the net, and one of the more intriguing factoids I discovered is that Ennes means island in Gaelic. Del Mar, of course, means ‘of the sea’. Annie Proulx certainly emphasized her character’s isolation by her choice of name – an island, isolated from the mainland.

>>>He seemed emotionally crippled from his childhood . . . When the two had that argument where Innis was wanting to scale back their relationship and Jack admitted to sleeping with other men, Innis theatened him. Agreed. The only emotion he ever permitted himself to express was anger; he denied himself everything else.

I needed to go back to see this movie again, because the first time I was overwhelmed with memories from my teens and 20s. I grew up in the rural west, and this movie was astonishingly accurate in every detail

Ennes was very real to me. I knew guys in Arizona like him. I knew many men who lacked all emotional expression except rage; the rage of those who, though not in Ennes’ particular situation, had lived lives without any choices or options. Friends of mine experienced the rage of men like that. I knew the poverty, those tiny trailers, those shabby apartments, the alcohol, the cigarettes, the guns. All these memories swamped my impression of the movie the first time I saw it.

Leaving the movie for the first time, I wondered what ever became of Everett; a guy I knew in high school, who was constantly tormented by the other boys for being a ‘sissy’. When I got my 20th high school reunion invitation, his name was among those that could not be found. I hope he found a good and happy life far away from there.

The second time I saw the movie, I could far better appreciate the subtlety and artistry and genius of this film. Every line of dialogue, every action, has meaning. I want the DVD as soon as it’s released.

>>>I related much more to Jack.

I liked Jack a lot. And, to be perfectly superficial here, Jake Gyllenhaal is so damn gorgeous!!!

>>>But it was beautiful and I have spent a lot of time thinking about it.

I know I’ll be thinking about it for a long time to come.
