The varmits are still about. The coons came by during the rain last night, all bedraggled and standing up so their little feets and noses were pressed against the glass door. It was good to see them.

While we were pruning the roses and the pomegranate, the new neighbors wandered over. They were actually drawn to us because they desired to met Brindle, who was being very kittenish and bouncing all over the place. It was fascinating to see him meet strangers. He's bold enough to meet them as equals, but he did keep retreating to us for quick pats of reassurance. Then they mentioned how bad the coyotes have been, how they and the neighbors 3 houses down had the coyotes actually up on their porches, peering in their doors, even during daylight at one point.

Luckily, Brindle has been coming in without too much trouble, and the past 3 nights he's been quite the cuddlebug (with him in my arms, it's been the path of least resistance to sit up at night and catch up on the curling matches. Last night, he went to bed with him and dove under the covers. He craves being touched and held right now. This cat goes through more changes than a downtown stoplight.

Glad to hear the critters are still out and about. Sounds so pitiful, picturing them all wet & cold. Sure you don't want to invite them in? . When it starts to get cold, I get "fur hats" at night.

Coyotes on the porch? Gaaah!
