Mostly according to plan

Well, just as I wrote that David Lynch post, I heard the sound of a Very Big Truck in the driveway. So did all the cats. I went out side to talk to the manly men about 'hey, weren't you supposed to come after noon?' They denied that the request had been made (but I saw Robert call, request and confirm they would come by afternoon sometime.) I asked them to take ten while I tried to find the cats, but they were gone. We called Robert and told him the trouble and I went out and said they would just have to come back later. They weren't happy, but HELLO! If cats are hiding in the house, they can't start the gas so wouldn't it be better to skip to the next house rather than wait for me to rustle cats?? The men just gave me that dead eye stare that said, "what's a dead cat or two?" Bastards. Luckily, as they pulled out, Brindle came out of hiding and watch them go. He was grabbed and caged. Scooter was grabbed and caged. I had to search the house completely to find where my precious, Sweet Reg, had hidden. Once he was caged, I only had about 15 minutes of stuff left to do and I went to the hotel where there was no prob about checking in early.
To make a long story short, the house was bagged about 1pm, and I checked on it a few minutes ago and all was well (a gloom and doom co-worker had to be sure and tell me about how she was cleaned out by burglers when her house was tented.)
Did you know cats are nocturnal? As soon as the lights went out last night, all three of them came out of hiding and started pacing and meowing. Lovely. I catered to their every whim for a couple of hours until they settled. Today, I've taken a deposit of Brindle's stool to the vets for testing because he still isn't feeling well and has the hershey squirts. I brought sheets from home to put all over the hotel room to minimize damage to their establishment and that's working okay. Plus, I think the flagill is beginning to work so hopefully things will improve.
Now, to buy lunch and attack that pile of SG1 zines I bought at MediaWest. Or a nap.
