Just how much does it cost to run a fan?
Aug. 15th, 2006 09:40 pmI found this site and found it informative. It only costs 1 cent per hour to run a house fan. The microwave is 1 cent per 5 minutes. I would have thought it was more than that. And it's 10-14 cents per pot of coffee.

And because the universe does hava a sense of balance, in the last 2 days I got a $150 gift card from Lowes, $108 voucher from the Microsoft Antitrust Settlement, and 2 friends I shared a room with at Comic Con decided I over paid my share of the room. This is so much better than last month's cash super sucker events.

Date: 2006-08-17 07:08 am (UTC)So, that's 5.8 hours a day. Right.
We've set our temp to be 76, and it turns on at 9:30am and goes unti 7pm if it's hot enough. So, "$44 for 7 hrs/day (in the summer)" is more like 10 hours or more like $66 a month. Hmmm....our bill goes up by $100/month at least during the summer. Maybe it's better as a comparison chart? Still, I we've been using the fans more and the bill did go down.
