My computer is back!

So, there's a lot to catch up on. Too much, perhaps. I have been downloading the last three eps of Torchwood to watch later tonight. I take it there hasn't been any new SGAs in the last couple of weeks?

I guess I've been oblivious of alternate news sources but this last week I've been watching MSNBC and listening to a "progressive" news radio station (1150 AM in the Los Angeles area.) All this seems to mirrow Fox news and the popular far right radio station. Obviously, these formats work so hopefully the Democrats will use these to good effect against Bush. Anyway, I been learning lots and lots.

There was a big windstorm here yesterday. The cold wind blew constantly but then you'd hear these big gust coming at you like a freight train. Poor Brindle wanted to be outside in the worst way, but he could stand only about 30 minutes before he was begging to be let back in as there was WAY too much stimulation going on. It made him grumpy, and gave him bad hair. It was hard not to laugh....

There's not been too much new tv on of late. I've been listening to the Season 10 SG1 commentaries. I've only heard the first disk and my oh my, how does Cooper's ego fit into the recording studio? And it was sad to hear him avoid giving Shanks any real praise. Guest stars "were fantastic talents and yeah, Michael was okay, too, and oh, I thought it would be great to..." Pettiness is something he strives for at all time. There was an interview on the michaelshanksonline site where the director of Michael's next film spoke glowingly about him and his talents. Such a contrast.

It was pretty funny just how many times I turned towards the keyboard to look something up. When on trips I go cold turkey, but when I'm sitting next to the computer, it's a conditioned response to want to use it. Computers are definitely here to stay. Thank you for the welcome back. :)

He really is the most insecure producer I've ever seen - or at least, one of the few that actually thinks he should be worshipped beyond his own actors, out in front, with female fans lusting for *him*.

Oh geez! I almost spewed coffee over the keyboard and monitor! Yeah, I think you're right about the half-inch weenie and his desire to have female fans lusting after him. He must view Shanks as his competition and undeserving of all the admiration that is rightfully his. Yeah, that explains all that barely concealled rancor. Putz is right.

Huzzah! I kept thinking I had to wait until next Tuesday to talk to you, but here you are! So, what was wrong with the durn thing? I just got a nice surprise from Netflix...I e-mailed them whining as to why I didn't get disc 2 of the Lord Peter Wimsey mystery I was enjoying which was the next one in the queue, but got the one after that? So, they sent me a voucher so I can get the next one without waiting to have any returned to them. How cool is that! It's my happy birthday tomorrow too, so that was kind of a bonus. Sometimes it pays to whine it seems. It makes up for a book never showing up that I'd ordered for Bunny for Xmas. I got a refund, but that's not the point, now the pressy will be even later than it already is.
Nought much on telly this is true. Bones is on hold, and my Tivo is still acting up; I think I may have to reboot the thing and lose all the stuff I have recorded..poo.

That's wonderful about the results from whining. I forget to employ that strategy and when I do, I get that dead fisheye stare that plainly says "and you're telling me this because...?"

We're headed out next week to see Bunny so I'm going to bring her last year's birthday gift AND her Xmas gifts. What a nice big bag...sitting next to your nice big bag with your Xmas and Birthday girl gifts, too! I had thought I'd get in touch with you before your big day, but I forgot what a nasty holiday schedule they put up. I worked 3, off 2, work three, then I leave to go visit Bunny. We'll have to compare our schedules to work this out.

When I've rebooted my Tivo, I've never lost any of the programs on it. You might check at the tivo.com site and email them what's up to see what they recommend.

I take it your tooth is better now? How long did that last, anyway?
