A busy, busy day.

Boring stuff.
We had the plumbers in at 7am to check the furnance's nasty metal-on-metal grindy noise and to snake the drains out. While they were here, I got a distressed phone call from
moonchildetoo who got surprised by the news she was going to be discharged that morning from the hospital. I volunteered to be her Go To Girl if she was to be discharged today but the traffic was a mess (maybe because it was a Friday before a 3 day holiday? I don't know.) And the parking lot at St. John's was about what most Starbucks have. How ridiculous!
Anyway, I got her home and settled in. Then I backtracked to The King's Head and got a couple of fish and chip dinners to go. Traffic was just as nasty for the 60 miles to go home and had the added torture of having to smell the delicious food.
Once home I scarfed down part of the food and took Mom to the foot doctor. She got a splinter last week and during the last few days, she developed a pea size lump that was hot and reddened, and since she's diabetic, that's not good. Luckily, today it wasn't red or hard and the lump was mostly diffused. The doctor drained what he could and told her to soak it twice a day and check back next week. It looks like her own immune system was going to take care of it so that's a wonderful thing.
And then...I went back to bed! I had had only a few lousy hours of sleep and was desperate by then. Now, that I've caught up on my sleep and have eaten the rest of the fish, I'm good.
The furnace will need a new motor, btw.
Oh, and we're nearing the end of Random Acts of Kindness Week, which was from February 12-18.
