I'm back.

We came, we saw, we drank wine and sniffed tree trunks. All was joyful, relaxing and lovely.

Even though they had "more snow than they knew what to do with" 2 weeks before we arrived, it was almost all gone from the valley floor, with just a few patches left in the shade. Even the high country only had a patches visible. The Yosemite falls had a fair amount of flow when we arrived, but with the daytime temps in the mid 70s, the fall was definitely fuller when we left. We saw lots of deer, and I threw a few handfuls of (illegal) peanuts to the blue jays each morning. I took a few walks and did some shopping. The last night we stayed on the patio, drank wine and watched the stars come out. Bunny insisted on calling Orion's sword his "fancy bits" and when I did get her to call it his sword, she did it with a wink, wink, nudge, nudge. Pornographic constellations. Huh.

My knee's been bothering me so I didn't get to run around so much, but there is much joy and contentment in just sitting and noticing how the pine needles glisten in the sunshine or watching the behaviors of the birds and squirrels. Or just marvel at all that massive granite towering around you. Bunny looked at El Capitan and mentioned there was a lot of good countertops in it. She is incorrigible. Completely and totally. I'm sure she'd say the same about me, too.

On the way home, we decided the forest was enchanted because there was miles of snow covered countryside and we didn't noticed it on the way in! Three people not notice miles of snow?? It was so very, very strange! And later, we stopped at one of those roadside tourist traps and bought gouda and peach chutney, and had fed the koi and ducks. Life's little pleasures.

Our hostess, feltedhare fed us well (hey, I made some asparagus frittata this morning!) and took us to cool shops to browse in. Her three black cats were hiding (Door and Fogg) or LOVEMELOVEME (Rhoo.) Rhoo's a little midget cat with ridiculously short tail. I can finally say that here because he can't read. If he hear me say that, he'd be very upset, so "hey shorty!" *G*

My cats were very happy to have us home and Reg and Brindle had a purring competition. Brindle's new place is the floor at the foot of my bed. He did his obsessive nursing behavior (where he reverts to kittenhood for a few minutes) with my sneaker! He put his face in the shoe and 'made biscuits' on the lacing part of the shoe! He is one odd, odd cat!

Now, I get to work for three nights in a row, then go to a certain Stargate con in a certain country to the north!

I did download the last ep of Stargate, but I haven't watched it. It will be over if I watch it and I don't want it to be over. For those that have watched it, do I need to see it ASAP?

Welcome back! It sounds like you had a great time!

I haven't watched any of the Stargate episodes yet...I'm just waiting for them to show here. My computer is too slow to download, but I think it's more that I don't want to have it be over...

There are lots of interesting discussions going on, but that's no reason to watch it in a hurry. We'll all still be willing to discuss it in a few weeks or even a few months.

In all honesty, it's just another episode, so it can wait as long as you can.

Also, I offer tissues in case you, too, get weepy because it's the last one.

Yeah, I'm missing the discussions. ::sigh::

What's sad is that I just haven't had the time and it's so frustrating that the net is so extremely immediate. Snooze, you loose; that discussion is so yesterday.

Oh well, this is my problem. The good part of the net is those discussions will still be able to be read when I'm ready.

Tissues, eh? You know, I probably will need them. As flawed as the show is, I have loved watching it for ten years. Oh boy, the tissues will be a good thing, I think. Thanks.
