We've lost another cat. Brindle
May. 16th, 2007 06:50 pmFive days after we lost our beloved Reggie to cancer, I came home to find evidence that Brindle was killed and taken away in the night, probably by coyote. Mom said he wouldn't come in last night. He's been doing that of late though last weekend he slept cuddled up to me and that was a comfort. I can't believe we've lost both our orange cats. I think Scooter heard something in the night. He wanted the door open this morning and he went out on the porch for a minute and peered anxiously about. The poor thing has terrible eyesight. He's finally suspicious that Reggie is gone and keeps peering over his shoulders, waiting for Reg to show up.
We both figured something like this would be Brindle's end because he was so independent, so stubborn and determined to live his life his way no matter how much we tried to keep him in. He had become a very sweet cat, overcoming much of his anger issues and we are comforted that we were able to give him a loving home. And of course he was incredibly beautiful.
We are just stunned and heartbroken.
