1. Janet never died. She wasn’t even injured. In fact, she and Emmett Bregman continue to see each other as their schedules permit. Their relationship is sweet and full of laughter.

2. Abydos was not destroyed. Kasuf and Skarra are alive and well. Daniel continues to make regular visits there.

3. Jacob isn’t dead either. With Jacob and Selmek still around, the Tok’ra continue to waver between helpful and creepy/sinister.

4. During the year that Daniel and Sha’re were together, Sha’re did become pregnant but suffered a miscarriage that was devastating for the young couple. A few months later their neighbor, a father of a large family died when a broken tooth became infected. A few months after that, a young girl fell. Her broken leg healed crooked and made it painful if not impossible for her to leave her house. Daniel had a long talk with Kasuf and together they decided to unbury the Stargate and seek a relationship with Earth should Earth contact them again.

5. Teal’c made his decision to rebel against his god when he watched a captive draw a forbidden symbol in the dirt at his feet. He saw a man of knowledge, his face sincere as he attempted to communicate. There was no fear, no disgust, no anger. Teal’c knew these people were untouched by the Gou’ald and he felt a wild surge of hope. If he could save them, if they would take him with them, and if they were as strong as he suspected they were, the sacrifice of leaving his life and his family behind would be worth it. He saw his chance to live free and the potential to free all Jaffa as he stared into the earnest gaze of a pair of blue eyes.

6. SG1 has team night once a week at Jack’s house. Jack started the get togethers because he needed his team to know each other better, and to like each other. They continued to have team night past the point where other people would have been grateful to have some time away from their co-workers. Due to the secret and stressful nature of their jobs, they needed to relax with people who could relate to their experiences and understand without explanations what they had been through and the pool of people that fit that description was limited to four. It made them family. Besides, they really did enjoy each other’s company. A favorite pastime was to get Daniel tipsy. Aside from being the sweetest drunk, and his lateral thinking brain would make the most outrageous connections that would leave them laughing like nothing else in the universe could do.

7. Jack O’Neill pretends to be stupid to amuse himself, to annoy his friends and to misdirect his enemies. It was a strategy and he was very good at strategizing.

8a. Carter has father issues, and Jack is well aware of them. The reconciliation with her father, seeing his approval and pride, helped her work past these issues. She realizes that aside from a physical attraction, she and Jack have nothing in common. She is ambitious and wants to make a difference. Jack really does long for the quiet life.

8b. No one gets left behind. The SGC go back and rescue Joe Faxon. He and Sam get together and marry. They’re a very good match for each other in every aspect.

9. Daniel also has father issues and Jack is aware of those, too. Words of approval and small touches of reassurance help Daniel to stay focused on the job at hand and to remember he’s a part of the team and not a loose cannon. Hammond also became aware of Daniel’s issues the first time he called him “Son” and saw the quiet pride and joy bloom in Daniel’s face.

10. Jack, Daniel and Teal’c started having their own after hours get togethers, if you know what I mean. They’re guys and they got needs, ya know?

11. Major Davis has a crush on Daniel Jackson. When Jack becomes General and later when he is in D.C., he makes sure Davis is kept busy in Washington. Davis a good man and Jack is fairly certain if anything ever happened, Davis wouldn’t be able to hide it and it would ruin valuable man’s career.

12. Harlan really knows his machinery. He made backups of the synthetic SG1’s consciousness before they went out on each of their missions. When they were all lost on Juna, he made duplicates of his friends when he returned home. Com-traya!

13. Daniel kept in regular touch with his grandfather after he went to live with the giant aliens. When the SGC informed Nick that Daniel had died of radiation sickness, he was confused. He asked when it had happened and when told it had been two weeks ago, he smiled broadly. “I don’t think so,” he said. “Just last night, we had a long chat, you see.” He waved off their concern and refused to return to Earth. “Don’t worry about us. Daniel and I, we’ve lots of time for each other now.”

14. After Daniel materialized naked in General O’Neill’s office, he allowed his friends to think he didn’t remember what had happened to him after he was kidnapped by the replicators, but he did. He remembered what the Replicator of Carter dug out of his brain, and he remembered the look in her eyes when she killed him. He even remembers the Waffle House. He’s never forgiven or forgotten being locked up in the padded room and shot full of drugs for admitting to hallucinations, so he is loath to volunteer some of the more farfetched things that have happen to him unless there is true need. It would probably help him to talk to a counselor about possible issues between himself and Sam but honestly, there is no one around he trusts enough for that.

15. Teal’c adores Daniel and has made a private vow to support him and do anything in his power to keep him safe. He knows it’s not enough though. He can never make up to his friend what he stole from him: A wife, a family and the contentment of a peaceful happy life.

16. Daniel finds himself looking at Vala and wondering what Sha’re would be like if he had been able to free her from Ammonet. Being a host would have to profoundly change a person and he tries to be supportive to Vala. He also knows Vala wants him but he’s been pursued and abused by Goa’uld and other powerful women before and is wary. He doesn’t trust her enough to be intimate with her. For now.

17. Jack’s clone carefully considered his options. While it was very tempting to choose a life where he could raise a family, have a mundane job and live a life in peaceful ignorance, it felt too much like wimping out. Until Earth was safe, nothing else would suffice for him than to be out in the frontlines with the other defenders. When he becomes of age, he will pull strings and get the Air Force to put him on an accelerated track. With the age difference between the original and himself and completely different names, he figured there will be no problem with him making a beeline for the Stargate Program. They say the sea is addicting but that pales in comparison to falling in love with space travel.

18. Daniel started to lift weights with Teal’c after he descended because when he finally did remember what Jack had looked like before Daniel died, he was shocked by the change. He could see the deep lines a year of grief had etched into his friend’s face. And rather than protest when Jack took pains to keep him safe on missions, he started to lift weights, take regular target practice and to schedule weekly hand to hand training sessions with Teal’c. Jack realized immediately what Daniel was up to. He monitored Daniel’s progress and when he had enough proof that Daniel was serious about staying alive and safe on missions, he relaxed his hyper vigilance. It felt to the rest of them like the release of a breath that had been held for way too long.

19. SG1 ran across Aris Boch on a regular basis, and also Major Kawalsky in one form or another. Robert Rothman was goa’ulded but survived being shot by O’Neill. He was taken to the Tok’ra and freed. The experience didn’t make him any humbler, strangely enough. And lastly, Nyan eventually joined a SG team and did his adopted world proud.

20. Daniel was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Multiple times. Saving the world shouldn’t get old.

I especially like #13. I can see that: I wish the show had touched on that.

Yeah, I really wish they'd at least dropped a couple of lines here and there about Daniel going to see him.

Yeah, I can just see glowy Daniel swirling about with those ghostly giant aliens.

This is part of my personal canon as well. I don't see a machine culture not realizing the need for back-ups and redundancies. It would only make sense that every piece of information was stored. I figure that the androids probably only really lost the memory of what happened on Juna.

Oh, yeah! Can't let the robots die. I really like #4, too.

Yeah, that kind of thing would be one of the only reasons Daniel would want to reestablish ties between Abydos and Earth. It's a real tightrope problem, trying to balance the desire to keep Abydos as pristine a culture as possible and the desire to help them with things like modern medicine.

I can't see Daniel being unaffected by the early and preventable deaths to people in his adopted world, not when a box of antibiotics could save people's lives.

I think everyone is really fond of those robots. They weren't creepy at all, because they really were exact copies of our guys. SG1 with super powers. *g*

Exactly. And Harlan was witness to what happen and he can fill them in. And they will be bet-ter each time he has to repeat the process.

Oh yeah. If nothing else, with their work on the planet's machines, they're learning more about how to improve themselves. I figure at this point all of them are pretty formidable engineers and probably know a whole lot more about more fields. And they're the ones who made the devices that let them go off-world, not Harlan. So, they've learned some and they'll learn more. It just doesn't make sense that they couldn't be re-created. After all, Harlan never said he wouldn't build more of them if something happened. I would think he'd have made certain to have back-ups just because of the possible accidents they'd have whilst repairing the machines.

Yeah. Harlan seemed very practical. Making backups would be second nature. He had been alone for a very long time, probably kicking himself the entire time that he didn't make a backup and if he ever got another chance....

I'm reading a very good story right now that has the robots in it.

I've not finished it yet but it's a Sam and Daniel friendship and team fic.

Yep. I'm not entirely sure where in her journal it is. I try to remember to put the url in with the story when I put it on my PDA, but many times I forget.

Yes you should. *g* I would love to see them.

I spent a couple of days thinking about mine and it turned out to be harder than I thought it would be, but ultimately, very satisfying.

I'm glad you like 'em. There's not any you'd pull and replace with something else?

You ever gonna write a cross over where an alien escapes from SGC and Dean and Sam cross paths with SG1 as they try to deal with it??
