Update

Just a quick note to catch you up. I leave in the morning for Vancouver and the SG con. I spent the day today moving crap and helping get the FiOS installed. It went pretty well, except they need to come back and install a second cable card in the HD Tivo so we can tape two things at once. Phone is good. Net is okay...the faster speed is very noticeable when dl photos and movies. I'm so tired!

The good news is that Scooter is holding steady but is noticeably debilitated though. He just wants to be held all day. Even when he's hungry, he may not feel like getting up to go get food so we take him to his meals and then take him to his litter box. Think of a human in a nursing home capable of tottering about and who does better if you bring their meals to them. I suppose he is on borrowed time.

I'm taking the laptop to the con, so I should be able to check in each day.

I'm just gonna watch the Colbert Report and then go to bed. I think I'm packed....

Oh, eeee! Have a great time. I'd forgotten that was coming up. The Creation guys told me they'd play Flagpole Sitta (for Michael's intro, but I'll take it anywhere I can get it), so let me know if they keep their word!

Hope Scooter hangs in there while you're gone. I had to go to England for 3 weeks leaving a very doddery beloved pet budgie once. I was so paranoid about his health that I boarded him at the vet while I was away.

There was a stretch in the 1990s that was very bad for me when it came to traveling and losing loved ones (human and furred) at the same time. It's made me perpetually twitchy about it. I've given him a big hug and kiss. Hopefully he'll be here when I get back.

The very first time I went overseas and left a pet in someone's care (my first budgie, George) he had a heart attack and passed away before I got home, so I understand your trepidation.

I'm very sorry to say I didn't see your vid played this weekend. I didn't see all the programming so I've no idea if they played it. They played Bri's Sharp Dressed Man again for Michael's intro. It's a good one, but I was really wanting to see Flagpole Sitta. :(

Ah, well, never mind. Not the end of the world. I am a little miffed since they said they'd play Flagpole for Michael's intro in lieu of the $100 voucher I won at Secaucus that never got to me. But in the grand scheme of things, it's no big deal.

I'm calling home every night to get my own Scooter report. He actually jumped onto my bed this morning, but instead of wanting to be loved, he just wanted to curl up and nap with me. So, at least he's moving around more if not back to his usual level.
