First, if you like Criminal Minds, I think this author writes the show really well. The fic is Reidcentric but she is favorable to all the characters. Gen.

Raccoon and Brindle content to follow:
The raccoons have been very active. Momma coon has babies up the tree. I saw her go up there and heard lots of talking to each other. If you say, "Hmmm?" in a high pitched manner with an inquisitive upturn at the end, that's what it sounds like.

Momma coon has sat her fanny down on the porch with all the kibble for a couple of nights (tho no sign of her last night.) One night, another single raccoon was wanting to eat so bad and kept circling while she either sat there or charged at him. She made very fierce noises, which I recorded. I tried twice to upload them to photobucket--it says it was successful, but then I can't find the file. Pooh! Anyway, she was sounding very aggressive but she'd be sitting on her fanny with one foot in the air as she paused her grooming. Pretty funny, really. And the skunks were all laying out on the berm, not wanting to get closer to the grumpy one but willing to wait their turn. So, I put some food out at the other side of the courtyard and the hungry coon ate that and left.

Last night, a skittish raccoon with one baby showed up. I wonder if she might be one of the triplets, the skittish one hasn't shown up with the other two for over a month? She was very wary and ate quickly while the baby played in the water bowl. No pictures for these two.

Took Brindle to the vets yesterday. He has many food allergies and he liked Reggie's diet kibble and it agrees with him. We're almost out so we made an appointment with the new vet who used to be a vet tech there. She's very nice, very sensible. She gave us a prescription for the kibble, for Brindle's flea meds and we reminisced about Reg. She said he was the best cat she ever took care of. She buried her face in Brindle's fur and I realized that the staff had probably done that to Reg. Who could resist a thick, cottony fur, loud purring cat? Anyway, we deferred Brindle's temp being taken--it was to the point of having 3 people hold him down for that and an very angry cat afterwards. It went well with the vet tech who just weighed him and got happy feet for her praise. But it didn't go so well with Dr. K. I think Brindle thought Dr. K would be doing the temp taking and anytime her hand wandered down to his hip area he'd hiss or warn her off. She looked him over, pronounced him in good condition. She didn't press for any test or medications. Brindle is scabby right now, I think he got into some of Scooter's food. :( The scabby tabby is in the washroom sink now, self medicating on the cool porcelain.

Any hints on how to upload to vid to Photobucket is appreciated.

LOL, the circus at Sweetpea Manor!

I have always buried my face in my kitties' fur. Doing that with Wheelz's silky soft coat was as good for me as taking a BP pill and tranquilizer combined. Snicky just suffers in WTF? mode, but will sometimes deign to purr. Hope Brindle continues to keep well.

Photobucket? Once you sign in you have that box which says "download photos & video", and gives you a choice of checking "my computer" and other places. Choose whatever, click "upload", and it does it.....
