Have you all heard it yet?  In the second segment he says the character that is easiest for him to write is Daniel.  He's kind of the heart and soul of Stargate.  His opinions are often his (Wright's) own in terms of how they should approach a situation.

Also, that RDA would always refuse to say a purposefully written funny line, even if you asked him to.

Re Jack/Sam:
If you think they're together, then go ahead and imagine it.

Having said that, there is a scene he's writing in the script for the 3rd Stargate movie that is, shall we say, romantic.

So, heart and soul, eh?  I wonder where he heard that?  :::snerk:::

I'm a bit fumed about that J/S comment. Does it mean people like me that don't like imagining them together can continue to do so too? I mean, I don't begrudge my friends who are sane shippers that they get something they can interpret and squee about, but does it have to infringe and put a glare on my gen goggles?

I take comfort in the fact there's an obvious cut before he makes the comment in the interview about a romantic scene...because we know Stargate does those *oh so well*. ([livejournal.com profile] astrumporta informs me I may be deluding myself with this comfort, but I'm happy in my land of D'nile, heh). It probably will be just enough for the non/antishippers to be annoyed and the shippers to feel gipped. Oh well, I will live in blissful denial until I see the evidence for myself

On the other hand THIRD MOVIE! And sweet Daniel comments, and I have to admit, BW is the one I fangirl most of the SG writers.

The Jack comment cracked me up.

*still living in squee that I have joined the twenty-first century and have a cable modem now. There's this invention called YouTube! And it has convention moments! And the infamous My Little Ponies is worse than I thought (although the Furries was so much funnier).

Sorry. Had a bit of a moment there. Shall I get the broom and sweep up post-mini-rant/babble? :-D

Historically speaking, this is what they always do. They give the shippers a fake out and it'll never be what they so desperately crave. Meanwhile, for those of us that find these little 'gems' about as appealing as finding half a worm in one's apple, it just sours our joyous expectations with a strong dash of dread.

That little pause of his and that dropped voice...he thinks he's being really clever with this. I'd bet he's got something to annoy everyone. But now you've worried me about what astrumporta knows. I'm gonna be rooming with her at Comic Con so I'm gonna have to bug her now til she spills. *eg*

And you're right. The main thing here is that there is a third film in the works. SG1 probably. Maybe we can get something definitive on Friday. And I just hope we get to see some lovely Daniel stuff in it.

I like rant/babbles. *g*

D'oh! I know nothing. I just found the interview pretty definitive, and I can't imagine they'd go down the AU/time travel path with J/S yet again, my god. Anyway shipper are squeeing the world over for this and for JM's assertion that he thinks Sam is with Jack even if the declaration never, you know, actually makes it to the screen. Hilarious.

But but but there's that obvious interview cut! It could be a bait and switch. There could be important qualifying information in that cut footage. Or maybe it's just another "not exactly"! See, see, see, see!

Maybe the romantic scene is between Landry and Walter! desperately clutching at straws

I replied below before I realized you had responded too.

Have fun at comiccon!

Wait JM asserted he thinks Sam is with Jack? Or is this that missing scene again? He's always thought Sam was with Jack. Silly fellow. ;-)

LOL! I'm pretty sure she knows anything in this particular instance. She's just more experienced and cynical with the shipper cycle than I am.

And yay! Have fun at ComicCon!

Ugh. For him to say that he has a romantic scene in the movie ... Argh. The only romance that has been done well since Daniel/Sha're is what the actors have subtly slipped in, in the background, like Teal'c/Sam in Unending. The writers trying to write it? Not so much. :-(

The rest of the interview is cute, though.
