I wasn't quick enough to snap a photo of this skunk laying EXACTLY the way the momma coon was lying last week or whenever it was, but I took a couple of pics as it balanced up there trying to groom itself. As you can see, the rock really is pointed with steep sides. I think everybody just enjoys the challenge.

Pic Spam of two!

As for True Blood, maybe a little better than the first one. The trouble is I don't see the chemistry between Bill and Sookie. And her brother Jason is the type of person I despise. I still like Tara but honestly, she is TOO smart to be smitten by that idiot Jason.

Fringe? I had it on for about 40 minutes and just turned it off. There are too many cinematic techniques that remind me of Lost and now I have a knee jerk reaction of intolerance to those tricks. It may be a good show but I just don't care. And I spent an hour getting the Tivos sorted out as to who is gonna record what as most of the shows premiere while we are on vacation so I'm actually a little relieved that there is one show less to watch. Typical. I'll be in Canada and won't see the lovely and talented Michael Shanks having fun with David Hewlett until I get back the following week! Woe is me! I bet I'll be able to catch Criminal Minds up there (uh, if the hotels I book have a tv; I know some didn't but I don't know know if I book those or not.)

I've spent most of the night doing all those little fiddly bits that need to be sorted out before one leaves the homestead for a bit. I even tested the strength of the AA batteries I'm taking for the camera. Wouldn't want any duds.

Oh, I drove down to the Honda Center and bought my Australian Pink Floyd tickets and saved myself $30 in fees and got the seats I wanted. I should do that more often.

Hee to skunk. Did you name her Flower?

I've been wondering what you thought of Fringe. You missed the most boring part! ;-) Actually there was a bit of a twist at the end that was mildly intriguing, but...yeah. I'm not too enamored of this go round.

Yay to Canada travel! Boo to missing Atlantis (crap, is the Daniel ep(s) already coming up!?)

I think Blossum and Flower are the names we call them so you got that right!

I missed the boring part? I knew I wasn't gonna finished the ep when "Brad" from Boston Legal was lying on that bed all covered in burns and I had no interest in what would happen next.

Yep, First Contact is on a week from this Friday. I'm gonna miss all the timely conversations. Drat, I hate that. :(

But then again, lovely mountains and lakes and clean air and wild life and NO WORK!!! Yay!

THAT'S why that dude looked familiar!

If you bother to care here's what happened the rest of the time: Heroine chick got convinced to take LSD and did some kind of shared dream with Brad where she got to see who hurt him. Tracked bad guy dude down. Found out...actually that got squirrelly and bad guy twin was working for other people, but they figured out chemical stuff somehow to fix Brad! Um, yay? Bad guy also revealed to heroine chick that he had a tape recording of his contact as insurance--funny thing, voice was very familiar because it was BRAD! She finds out just as Brad killed bad guy to cover his tracks (oops, too late Brad!) Then there was a well done, but fairly gratuitous car chase which ends up with Brad dying from a car crash. A bit anti-climactic, no? He tells his betrayed love some kind of "The Truth is out there" shtick and dies in her arms. Which would probably make her sadder if she wasn't still pissed about the whole "traitor to the country" issue.

The second episode was better...but better's a relative term.

But but Canada is pretty anyway and so YAY! *uses Canadian icon in solidarity*

I didn't really like either episode of 'True Blood' and I wanted to so much! Bill is so sleazy looking, and not at all vampirish, in the way that 'we fans' would like..snort! Sookie walks aound in weird little cotton dresses or underwear, but maybe that's a southern thing. I agree with you completely about the lack of chemistry between the two leads. As for the vampire teeth...pathetic. I actually laughed when the big guy in the liquor store showed his! Funny little things they were. I'll keep watching for now, in the hope that it will improve, but I'm not optimistic. I did like Granny, and Tara was great. I even liked Jason, as he is such a dork, and lends a comic element to it all. Sam, the doggy bar owner is good too.So, maybe there's hope.
I saw 'Fringe' for the first time last night, and really liked it. So, I guess I'm in the minority here LOL. There were so many funny little lines between the weirdy scientist dad, and his son. (Sorry, I've forgotten all the names as I was knackered after work) I liked the female lead too, and her boss is cool. The ending was lame though.
I like the actress who played the boss of the corporate firm, that they borrowed the little ray gun thing from, in order to see the retinal images. She's good. So, I give it an 8 so far.
