I wasn't quick enough to snap a photo of this skunk laying EXACTLY the way the momma coon was lying last week or whenever it was, but I took a couple of pics as it balanced up there trying to groom itself. As you can see, the rock really is pointed with steep sides. I think everybody just enjoys the challenge.

Pic Spam of two!

As for True Blood, maybe a little better than the first one. The trouble is I don't see the chemistry between Bill and Sookie. And her brother Jason is the type of person I despise. I still like Tara but honestly, she is TOO smart to be smitten by that idiot Jason.

Fringe? I had it on for about 40 minutes and just turned it off. There are too many cinematic techniques that remind me of Lost and now I have a knee jerk reaction of intolerance to those tricks. It may be a good show but I just don't care. And I spent an hour getting the Tivos sorted out as to who is gonna record what as most of the shows premiere while we are on vacation so I'm actually a little relieved that there is one show less to watch. Typical. I'll be in Canada and won't see the lovely and talented Michael Shanks having fun with David Hewlett until I get back the following week! Woe is me! I bet I'll be able to catch Criminal Minds up there (uh, if the hotels I book have a tv; I know some didn't but I don't know know if I book those or not.)

I've spent most of the night doing all those little fiddly bits that need to be sorted out before one leaves the homestead for a bit. I even tested the strength of the AA batteries I'm taking for the camera. Wouldn't want any duds.

Oh, I drove down to the Honda Center and bought my Australian Pink Floyd tickets and saved myself $30 in fees and got the seats I wanted. I should do that more often.

I finally watched True Blood. I liked it for the most part. I'm hoping it will calm down a bit; pilots are usually pretty amped up. I like the supporting characters better than the leads. The two black characters are great. Tara's instant anger? That's what Brindle was like for years but he's better now. I don't find the main vamp that sexy; when he first walked in the bar, I thought he reminded me of a dead Keith Richards. And Anna Paquin's acting reminds me of a Blue Jay looking at a bug--she gets in the vamps face and cocks her head one way then another. Oh, oh! Kind of like those naked aliens from "One Small Step." *g* Anyway, I totally don't get the instant vibe between Bill and Sookie. I do like that Sookie can hear other people's thoughts.

If you like vampire shows, it's worth a look.

I forgot to tivo Fringe. And how could I after the intense promotion it was gotten? It repeats on Sunday so I'll pick it up then.

Oh, and we went to the fair today. I had a corn dog, lemonade and a scoop of ice cream. I bought a few things. Made Mom rent a scooter (I paid for it.) She was buzzing all around. The trouble was her eye would catch something and she'd go for it, sometimes doing a bumper car thing. Oops. And at the end of the day, the scooter was running out of power so I had to push it up that last underpass ramp. One lady offered to help but I passed because there wasn't enough space for two to push. And when I got to the top, the thing buzzed away from me. I told these two guys that had commented on it that I think she had the brake on and they about busted a gut laughing. Maybe a little drunk, are we???? *g*

And because she had the scooter we were able to get to the craft stuff under the grandstands. The quilts, the needle work, the cake decorations and table decorations were fabulous. There are some very talented people out there. One table was a Charlie Brown themed and they had a huge metal dog water bowl for a fruit bowl. *g* And there was a mermaid themed table that Bunny would have really liked.
