Wolf or coyote? I'm thinking wolf. He was hunting something small in the brush.

The famous Peyto Lake. It was cold and lovely with periods of swirling snowflakes.

View along the Icefields Parkway on the way to Jasper:

The lake is gorgeous! And looks more like a wolf-face than a coyote - nice doggy!

Oh my god, every way you look up here is gorgeous. Just amazingly beautiful.

I still can't decide wolf or coyote. I shot the picture leaning over Mom to her window. I was too distracted to really just watch him.

I'm glad!

Spirit Island is quite something, isn't it?

If it's useful to you, here's my 2005 report with pics:

We spent less days than you in the Rockies, but we hit all the major places.

You must have been flying. I'm traveling with Mom, who walks with a cane and is slow, so I've stretched the trip out so I'm not stressing her too much. We had a nap today. *g*

I was gonna find your entry so thank you for posting the link for me.

We had a "fly and drive" deal, so we had a tight schedule. We saw everything we had to see, but not much time to spare, spending two or three nights at each place, visiting everything. We only had free time at Harrison Hot Springs, which is not really a very interesting place, so we just sunbathed. Given that before that we drove 800 km in 2 days, we deserved it!!

This is a place I plan to see again, and I'll try and spend more time there. I really have to sleep at that Moraine lake hotel sometime. Waking up, and going for a walk around the lake is just amazing!!

Wow. Just...wow.

I think that's a coyote, but it could be a young wolf. Either way, what a great catch on film!

More, please!

Your wish is my command. *g*

I just can't tell on him. It's kind of a narrow face, and the coloring could be either. He was smallish...or maybe he was just further away then I thought. *g*

Wow! What a beautiful place, and it looks really peaceful too. Something that can never be said of California, unless you're in the desert I suppose.
Went to see 'Ghost Town' today, and it was very funny, just as I'd hoped.
Did you rent a car from the airport? I would assume so, unless the buses are wonderful! That cream tea made me feel quite hungry as well.
Really enjoying your photos, and feel like we're there with you.
Do you like my funny kitty icon?!

That's a terrible thing to do to a cat! Poor baby!

Yes, we rented a car in Calgary. It is so beautiful and peaceful here. We just sit and absorb sometimes.

I want to see Ghost Town; I hope it will still be around when we get back.
