Maybe it's not as bad as I feared. While I usually only see one raccoon at a time (sometimes with another one passing through while the first one eats and drinks) I think I'm seeing different ones, so maybe the mob hasn't been decimated by illness or misfortune. The thin one is still wobbly and weak but is getting stronger. She now can grip kibble in her tiny little fingers and bring it to her mouth to eat. Then there was this other one who was still a bit distracted and weaker than he should be; he put an egg into the water bowl to crack it open. There was only one raccoon to do that (because, let's face it...what happens when you put an egg in water and swish it around?? It disappears! Only Mr. GreedyBoy was that, eh, dense to keep repeating that behavior.) And I think there was a third raccoon last night, Mr. Shyboy. He was one of the mob, but everytime we'd throw food out to the group, he would always dart under a table and stare at us until we stepped away from the door. This raccoon did this. So, maybe three of this summer's babies are still around, trying to cope on their own. I always kind of thought of this group as a tour group. They were way more interested in interacting with each other and they were always together. My current theory is perhaps the group fragmented due to the mating season, and now all these guys are trying to get by on their own. Maybe they aren't as successful by themselves, and are a bit lonely and scared to boot. They are very smart and obviously very social, and were a part of a tight-knit family. This has got to be rough for them.

I noticed I've begun Writing Behavior. I've been rewatching episodes while jotting down details on a note pad. I even looked up to see how long a flight would take from Peterson to Honduras. Of course, do I really need to find the cruising speed of a C-130 to be sure it would take the same as a commercial flight? Do the details REALLY need to be that thorough?

And, just what is the time frame of the events of Evolution 2? Should one take into account the obvious time of day things were filmed? Well, since it works for me for the plot of the story that's hovering temptingly around me like golden dust mote, I guess I will.

And, while this might be too much information...has anyone else noted creative surges correlating with specific times of the month? For me, the most creative energy is around ovulation, tapering off quite suddenly with the start of the period itself. Now, can I use this info to actually get some writing done?
And why can't the yard work do itself? Not enough hours in a day!

Since I know a couple of you folks are interested, this site was informative:
http://fruitsandnuts.ucdavis.edu/crops/pomegranate_factsheet.shtml

Special attention here: "for a real treat, kernels may be rolled in small cream
cheese balls to be served as appetizers." Sounds interesting, eh?

Okay, armed with knowledge for a change, I'm off now to hack at the pom.
