More drama. :::sigh:::
May. 1st, 2009 11:58 pmI got a sore throat on Sunday. Went to work anyway and barely avoided screwing up a couple of times because I was only firing on two cylinders by the end of the night. :(
Had a juicy cough by Tuesday.
Had an ear ache on Wednesday morning. My new MD was out of town so I went to a urgent care. Was seen by a very nice Asian lady (Chinese perhaps?) I wish she was my doctor. :( She gave me some antibiotics and I started feeling better.
Last night, my ear closed up. Pressure built and it was agonizing. After five hours, I gave up and went to the ER where I work. They made me sit for a couple of hours and it really wasn't that busy. The pain peaked while I was in the waiting room and I was in tears. Finally they gave me a room, and let me sit for another 45 minutes before the doctor finally came in and looked in the damn ear. He immediately demanded what I had put in my ear. Nothing, I replied. Then he demanded the same info from Mom (who had driven me there) and hello, same answer. "No drops??" "Nooooooo." I asked if he could lance it or something. He said he couldn't see my eardrum due to all the blood and pus. "I guess that explains the excruciating pain about an hour ago, then." He changed my antibiotic and gave me vicodin for the pain.
I feel better but still icky. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm getting a little vertigo because my balance is iffy and I'm feeling nauseous again for the second time tonight.
I called off tonight and am debating the next two nights, too.
