tenaya: (I love TV)

It's been interesting trying to figure out what Tivos are assigned to record which shows. I can record three things at once. Only on Thursdays at 8 is there four shows: Bones, Ugly Betty, Vampire Diaries and FastForward. Vampire Diaries drew the short straw for now.

Eureka:
This show has always been just mildly diverting. I was upset when it looked like they were making Henry a bad guy and I'm glad that turned around. But after that, I felt only mildly interested in the show. The UST between Jack and Allison I found confusing, like the writers couldn't decide (or maybe like the Boys At Bridge, the writers are fighting to get their agendas on screen.) So, what, Jack goes to Australia? Whatever. Someone remind me if this show actually comes on again.

Being Human:
Very disappointed by the ending. It seemed confused with all the back and forth stuff, almost like the writers were piecing together a couple of scripts. Will there be more? I am looking forward to "Desperate Romantics" so thanks to Grac for the heads up on that one. Sounds delightful.

Merlin--The Curse of Cornelius Sigan:
Gargoyles on the rampage! What's not to love? Actually, the return of prat Arthur (I have come to despise the word, "prat," btw.) And I saw a missing scene that I'm so glad was missing. In Arthur's bedroom when Merlin's being cut out and he asks if there's anything Arthur needs. He says his chamberpot emptied. And because of Cedric's meddling, Merlin trips and all the urine splashes over Arthur...including Arthur *spitting it out.* And there was a return of doofus music, too at one point. Those parts were disappointing because the first season ended on such a high note. Merlin doesn't not seem to have regressed as much as Arthur, though. And having Gwen fall on top of Arthur, breasts heaving? I guess that announces the start of the ship between Arthur and Gwen; subtle it wasn't. And I hope Morgana does something besides have nightmares.

But the coming attractions looked really good!

Criminal Minds:
This is the show I was most looking forward to, and doncha know we had a power outage?! Lost 10 minutes towards the end. At least I saw Reid get injured (and very reluctantly fulfilled his prophecy of how the unsub would end it.) Right after Hotch awakens and he realizes the killer will be going after his son is where the power cut out. It came back on just as his ex and son were getting into a car. I take it that they are going into hiding? That the one thing that makes Hotch's life bearable--seeing his son--is being taken away from him? Poor Hotch! Unbelievable what that man has to go through! Currently my favorite show and wouldn't miss it.

Castle:
LOVED Castle! Some very nice family moments for Castle, and his apology was wonderful, made him so much more a real character instead of just an ego with quips. I like that they've muted Beckett's makeup; not sure if I approve of making the kid look older. I just get a real kick out of this show and LOL a number of times. It's light and funny yet has some nice dramatic moments and lovely insight. Wouldn't miss it.

The NCIS':
I like NCIS but not this ep very much. My favorite moments were Gibbs moments, like the snipper shot and him (not very credibility) saving them at the last minute. I'm tired of the Tony/Zeva thing. I like Zeva, except when she's intent on Tony. And I know I'm alone in this, but I really don't care for Tony. I don't think he's funny, and he has a cruel streak that his cuteness doesn't mitigate. I'll keep watching because I like the supporting cast and Gibbs.

As for the LA version, I've always like Linda Hunt. All the rest was so blah we had to keep backing up the tivo to figure out what happened, then finally just let it run because we didn't care. The teaser for next week had some slashy lines in it for those that are wondering whether to dl or not. I'll watch a few more times but things don't look good.

Eastwick:
I like the cast, especially Paul Gross as Darryl. He's very likable and that makes me a little confused. I take it he's the Devil? I guess these witches are of the Christian stereotype? I thought Wiccans don't have a devil. These women have received power and in one, Joanna, is becoming quickly corrupted, pushing her will onto all that she can. Kat, has become empowered to quit being cowed by her husband. Of interest is that Jaime Ray Newman is only listed for the pilot. What happened there? Roxanne is resisting Darryl, but he seems perfect for her. It just seems like--with respect to the plot--all these women should end up being slapped down for their uppitiness for wanting more out of life. The characters are likable and there's a very nice lightness to the script that doesn't jive with the morality issues. I'll keep watching but am worried.

I still haven't seen House or The Forgotten or the Good Wife. Wow. I'm gonna be swamped. I'm hoping for some duds actually.
