Light at the end of the tunnel?
Dec. 5th, 2004 01:30 pmA reprieve of 3 nights is given to GG, and a near miss medical emergency:
I thought Garage Guy's dog was dying last night. Christ. I went to check her in the garage a few times while J was at work. One time she wouldn't lift her head and just laid there breathing painfully hard. She's too big to lift into the car, so we waited until J came home. Carly seemed better at that point, and doncha know, today she is bouncing around and eating again. I have no idea what was going on with her.
J says New Land Lord says the basement will be done on Thursday. While Mom went shopping, I explained to J about our doubts and concerns. He was a little hurt but understands where we are coming from as he has had some run-ins with people like that in the past (addictive personalities who manipulate and steal and lie, telling you what you want to hear.) We all agree that it's unpleasant to be a suspicious person, but...once burned, twice shy.
Anyway, Thursday is moving day. The carpet and painting will be done by then, so I will drive his stuff to the new place.
It seems peaceful now. Of course, it's a drizzly day and quite calming for that reason. Well, when I look out the window, I rejoice in all the greenery and burst of life and flowers, and try to ignore how tall the weeds are getting. I've got a birdbath that is over three foot tall. It now looks like a bowl floating on a sea of green as the pedestal is hidden.
