For the last 5 or 6 weeks, we've had some baby skunks appear. Tonight, there were three of them bebopping about. They like to charge one another, their big fluffy tails sticking up ramrod straight behind them. And they like to 'butt bump,' where they line up nose to nose, tail to tail, then swing their hips over, pow! and then proceed to crabwalk sideways as they try to push the other skunk away. So, just tonight, we were laughing as these three little guys were bouncing about, pushing each other off these parallel logs we leave up there because every species known has to jump up on them and do the balance beam walk across them. There's also this concrete rabbit statue that they were hopping on and being pushed off of, and sometimes someone pushed a little too hard and a little skunk would go barrel rolling down the berm, that big tail going twack, twack, twack! Then he'd leap to his feet and spronk up the hill and start bouncing around his siblings.

We get raccoons most nights, but either Cutiepie has changed her behaviors or she hasn't been by for a while. It's possible that she could be getting food from somewhere else.

I suppose I should mention that I've heard a coyote yipping nearby, one night about 2am, then about 6am about 3 mornings ago. :::sigh:::

Hopefully, we'll have baby raccoons in a month or so.

No coyotes! Too close to varmit families, thank you! :-( You are getting pictures, of course... *g*. Maybe Cutiepie has been busy giving birth? Let's hope so.
