I had another wonderful weekend. I think the vacation gods are smiling.
I went to the Farscape con this weekend with a friend from up north. We had a great time catching up and squeeing over Farscape, Stargate and Boston Legal. Friday, we played hooky from the con and went to Universal City Walk to see GoF, which was fantastic. We caught the 3pm showing in a theater that held at least 1000 seats...and was in an audience that numbered about 12, and it was FREEZING in there. It certainly lent realism to all those chilly scenes....
We had a great time at the con on Saturday, then went for a fine fish & chips dinner at the King's Head. We slept in on Sunday, and had another fine day at the con. Ben Browder was there. He had very good things to say about SG, Chris Judge and Michael Shanks in particular. I got the impression he and his wife aren't smitten with the 'tude at Gateworld. He also says the main difference between Mitchell and Crichton is that Mitchell is thinner. *g* Actually, I'll write a better report tomorrow, but I wanted to say how charming he was. My friend, who is new to Farscape fandom was absolutely delighted by him.
He talked about how he commutes each weekend back to his family here in LA, because you know, tv shows can be cancelled rather suddenly. In talking about upcoming work, he said he was going to say close to home for the holidays, and something about "tentitive" plans to return to Vancouver next year.
I wonder if the negotiators are playing hard ball with him, too? Huh.
Anyway, more tomorrow.

Date: 2005-11-21 10:02 am (UTC)Bah. All that stuff puts me in a bad mood. I'm glad to hear Ben was his normal wonderful self! :) I'm really looking forward to reading the rest of your report.
Sci Fi Wire is reporting this morning that all the SG-1 regulars (including Claudia) have signed for S10. I wonder how accurate that is since I get the impression that Ben hasn't finalized anything yet? I do remember reading that he was interested in S10.

Date: 2005-11-22 04:56 pm (UTC)The shippers attacking Ben and Mitchell are just making tptb annoyed with them. At least Ben isn't too concerned. I think his wife is feeling a bit protective towards her man, though.
Great news about everyone signing! And I finally finished the con report and have posted it. I hope you enjoy it. :)
